hi guys,

I have been offered a 1.2ct cut pink sapphire (seller says loupe clean and unheated/untreated, willing to get GGTL lab certificate in sri lanka) --- the picture of the rough is the pink sapphire.

also been offered a padparadscha 1.57ct unheated/untreated seller says.

What value would you put on these stones? and any advice?

I don't see a pad. Are there pics of it? If the seller is selling the light pink one as a pad, that's concerning.

The brighter pink looks nice, but can't tell anything about cut from the pic.

I only see a picture of the pink sapphire rough. Do you have a picture of the finished stone?

As for the padparadscha, any paperwork to prove that it is untreated and also labeled as padparadscha?

I asked seller if treated and if he would be happy to get a gem lab certificate. He was ok with the idea of getting paperwork.

The pictures are not so great. I have videos and had to take screen snips of the video as it is too large to upload.

assuming all paperwork checks out... could you kindly advise on what potential value for resale value in europe. I am based in England and would look to resell for a small profit to a jeweller in Londons jewellery district or Birmingham.

That's not a pad. Not even close. Just a pink stone that the vendor wants to overcharge you for by calling it a pad. Which is dishonest.

Not only is it not a pad, I'm pretty sure it's the face up of the other picture. The OP is saying one is a pink sapphire and one is pad, but I think they are one and the same. Face up there is the slightest orange tone, but it's not a pad. Too purple.

I tried to post videos which are a bit clearer but cannot attach to the thread..
thank you all for your advice..

@vintageloves I can assure it is not the same stone face up.

Sounds like a dangerous business to get into, trying to resell things for a profit if you’re not sure of the value.

The pad sapphire looks like a spinel to me. Very hard to judge the pink sapphire from the photos provided.
