All,

My wife and I will celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary soon so I figured silver would be in order. Initially was set on getting Frank Gehry''s Heart necklace:

http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/item.aspx?sku=24714373&aid=101&cid=287465&search_params=s+5-p+1-c+287465-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+1-t&mcat=148204

The weight of this necklace looks like it could be substantial and Im concerned about that so I am leaning more towards this:

http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/item.aspx?sku=15434627&aid=101&cid=287465&search_params=s+5-p+1-c+287465-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+1-t&mcat=148204

Now I know its not silver but it looks like her and I like the Platinum and Blue Sapphire. This would also match her platinum diamond wedding set.

Not staying traditional wouldn''t matter would it? Never ordered from Tiffany''s before nor been to their store so I have no idea and would be just as surprised as she would, I hope pleasantly

Any assistance is greatly appreciated

Paul

Do you have a Tiffany nearby you? I did order from their site once and the necklace I ordered was so much smaller than I had expected. It was pretty and looked as wonderful as the photo, however it didn''t even come close to my expectations and I returned it. If you do have the option, try and go in person. If not, plan a back-up present in case you''re not satisified with what comes in the mail.

My online ordering experiences from Tiffany's have always been very smooth. BUT I agree with MC that the pictures are often deceiving re:size. So instead I would call and ask the associate to tell you the exact dimensions of the pendant/necklace so you can get a more realistic idea.

Normally I love DBTY necklaces-but there is something very compelling about the Gehry necklace!

Does your wife like delicate or chunky jewelry?

Thats exactly my concern total weight of sapphire and diamonds. Now I know why Im here I really appreciate the fast replies. No unfortunately I am over the water right now and have no way to visit any jewelry store. I guess I''ll have to keep looking on the site for perhaps more carats or stick with the silver initially

That DBTY necklace has very tiny stones. Gorgeous-but very delicate and tiny-so just be aware.

As for as my wife''s preferences she can put together just about anything she''s a dresser for certain. I think the silver would have work with more in her wardrobe. decisions decisions

I believe I will lean towards the Frank Gehry necklace. Should any of you have other suggestions I am open there is still time before I must order. Just wanted to use this occasion to purchase from Tiffany''s for the memory and also assuring quality as I would be purchasing sight unseen.

Thanks for helping

If it were my 25th anniversary I would want something that I could wear a lot (like preferably all the time). I dont think the Gehry''s Heart
necklace fits the bill. I would much rather have the other plat/saphire necklace which I think is more wearable.

Congrats on 25!

Thank you very much!

My thoughts were also in line with plat/sapphire being more wearable, however the previous post did confirm my concern that this selection my not have the impact I would have desired. I may when I get to back to land purchase locally just to be certain

Oh, absolutely! I would not want a sterling item for my 25th anniversary unless it was just an extra little something like a $300 bracelet just to give something silver. I think platinum and diamonds is far more appropriate. I personally would rather have one of the DBY necklaces that has several diamonds around it rather than the one with the sapphire. I''d love that for an anniversary gift! I coudl wear the DBY necklace all the time and I might weat the FG one once a year.

Still undecided, now looking at platinum with diamond pendant, if only I could lay eyes on them in the store would certainly make things easier. You all have been very helpful and believe steered me clear from making a mistake for which I appreciate your time in posting.

Should anyone here have more suggestions I will check back. Right now looking at the diamond pendant on platinum something like this:

http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/item.aspx?sku=23349868&aid=101&cid=288212&search_params=s+5-p+1-c+288212-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+1-t&mcat=148207

What about something like this: Tiffany Diamonds by the yard necklace in silver

Then you get the classic everyday wearable item AND silver. Perhaps something else to go with it though? How much would you like to spend?

ETA: they have a bracelet that matches too...

That does look nice, my initial budget ....well??? how can one place a budget on his wife? Not from her perspective but mine. She knows I am probably getting her something but not like her ring which is probably at 10k now. I do know this, anyhow she is far from materialistic it is our 25th wedding anniversary so I had better get something nice. With that in mind I am thinking of increasing a bit and feel I can do something like this:

http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/item.aspx?sku=GRP00894&aid=101&cid=298241&search_params=s+5-p+1-c+298241-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+1-t&selectedsku=12668562&mcat=0

I want to get a bit of shock factor going on, I tell ya she has no idea)) and my biggest worry would be to have a so so presentation. Not having purchased from Tiffany''s beforehand I have no idea what this would look like or what I would be getting. I guess she''ll just have to like it.
