I am more concerned about those feathers near girdle area. Noted this is a VS1 grade diamond. But not sure if it will be more prone to cracking? Or I just over worried?

I did a search and found this thread where several professionals weigh in on this topic which may ease your mind. Paying a gemologist to look at your specific diamond might be advised if you still have concerns after reading it.

If hit the ring, will hit the prongs first most likely and apply pressure to the feathers?

At VS1. No. I wouldn't require that.
