I am looking for nice orange and yellow roses.

Can anyone suggest nice ones - I''m a huge fan of the old-fashioned roses and I like them scented wherever possible.

I have found this one, which is a hybrid tea, but I thought it would look amazing for boutonnieres... it''s called Oranges & Lemons.

There are Leonidas roses and also cherry brandy roses...

Sorry, that first picture was of Leonidas and here is Cherry Brandy. It has a bit of pink around the outer edges, but these are gorgeous roses!

Circus Roses

Link to close up... I think these are also Circus Roses. Those look more red-orange and orange-yellow... but I think I've seen them more towards orange+yellow.

Hi Pandora, my fav yellow (got a big vase of them right next to me as I type) is Teasing Georgia by David Austin. I also love Grandpa Dickson, which is a Victorian hybrid - like a great bit tea rose. Very fragrant too. Sorry, I don''t have a pic but I do have a migraine, so I''m going to have to log off now. Will do a quick search tomorrow if you''re still looking.

Good luck finding the perfect roses!

pandora, I share your love of scented roses..however, I learned in ordering my bouquet and boutinierre (sp?!?) that you have to find out what roses are available when you''ll be getting married. You may love that striped rose (and it IS gorgeous!) but it might not be available that time of year or via a florist. The roses I wanted were also "garden" roses and my floral vendor explained that while nice, those types of roses dont have a long shelf life in a bridal bouquet or a boutineirre (for the love of God, someone PLEASE tell me how the hell to spell that word!) and commercial roses will last a very long time in comparison. In fact, we were married on the 12th, I dragged my bouquet all the way home with me, and only last night did it finally look dead. So yeah, commercial roses will stay fresh looking way longer than garden roses, though you give up the scent for the longevity. Ask you florist if they''re even possible to get when your wedding will be...

Just keep in mind that most commercially grown flowers doesn''t as strong a fragrant as garden ones. I think the Oranges & Lemons will be kind of hard to find.

FYI surfgirl, it''s spelled boutonierre.

I'm pretty lucky that my wedding is the end of July which in the UK should guarantee a great choice on roses. Wedding is also late afternoon which should help with keeping them going a bit longer - and venue has those big heavy walls like castles do that keep the inside very cool.

I love the real garden roses - and especially David Austin, and even though I'm DIYing all the flowers I can order direct from him and the Real Flower Company. If I let them know by Xmas this year what I'm after they will grow them specially for my wedding.

It's sad they don't last as long as the commercial ones - and the new ones David has bred for vase-life are all pink

, but to be honest I'd rather have gorgeous flowers on the day and in the photos and then have them die quicker.

Orange isn't a colour you find much in the old-fashioned so I'm struggling a bit as I really don't know anything about modern roses as all my books are about the old ones!
