Can anyone guess what this food is?
Does it sound appetizing?

Something liquid-y, bright yellow in colour and tastes very sweet by the looks of all the added sugar in its various forms, including artificial sugar. Interesting that Omega 3 fatty acids are added; perhaps an attempt to promote it as being healthier than it really is. I'm stumped, but I will think up something soon.

This is definitely a natural product, as most of these are found endogenously. I was going to guess banana, but given the high FA content either almonds or eggs. Because of the ethane, my final guess would be an egg.

Wow.
You're good.

I found this article fascinating.
I'm so guilty of chemophobia.

I was actually just coming back because I then thought it could also be chicken! I would the composition of a chicken thigh is probably very similar as well.

Edit: I love that site, great content. I actually know one of the contributors, he is a well known pharmacist in Canada.

I was thrown off course because the ingredients were described in a manner as to make it sound human-made such as colour E101 and E106a. Nature made the colour, we didn't attempt to create it in a lab using dyes. Interesting way of breaking down the ingredients.

The link has a picture of a banana on top of those ingredients?

That is an excellent article. Goes straight to the issue & explains enough to calm fears. There is so much junk science today, and plain ignorant scare tactics, it's a shame. I've refused to be afraid of food, drink, air, sunshine, and heaven knows what else, since all this started. Most of it is absolute rubbish adopted by insecure people -- putting up mental fences around ourselves makes us feel safer. Response to peer pressure figures in too.

Thanks for putting up that link. Super.

Yeah, it's a banana, no? In college, in my organic chemistry lab, we made isopentyl acetate (on the ingredients list here it just says pentyl acetate). This is banana oil. The whole room spelled like bananas just from mixing the proper chemicals together. Really neat!

Ah Kenny's reply to Kama made me think it was an egg.

It was probably because banana was my first guess, but got thrown off by the high FA content.

Gotcha. Very impressive, by the way.

Banana is a food I consistently get an allergic reaction to if I eat it alone on an empty stomach. Full migraine symptoms - but without the headache! Migraine aura for 20 minutes, sometimes facial numbing, but never a headache. Eaten in a smoothie or with other foods - no reaction.

I am guilty of chemophobia and the subject is timely. I'm one of those hippie granola natural foods types. I don't take any over the counter or prescription meds except for odd times like now - and I am on a load of powerful drugs right now. I had a molar extracted yesterday and I am on an antibiotics and pain pills.

The pain pills are fun of course, but I always worry about side effects of things.

the ethene gas threw me off.

That reminds me of that ancient saying, "What came first, the banana or the egg?"

Many of my fans have told me I must be an endogenous.

Isn't ethene gas the reason why putting fruit in a paper bag helps it ripen quicker?
