Hi everyone, although we have 13 months left to the wedding, a friend of mine designed our monogram for us. Our wedding will have a fall theme, with the colors in the monogram. She''s also working on the Save-the-Dates, but so far her rough draft had me very pleased!! I''m so excited!

btw, our names are Amber & Paul.

I really like it!!! Nice colors for fall.

Ooh, very pretty. Makes me instantly think of fall. I can just see some gorgous fall centerpieces maybe done with fall leaves?

Thanks, FG and Jazmine! Jazmine, we''re doing centerpieces that are glass cylinders filled with candy corn (and maybe other fall toned candy, like reese''s pieces, or fall seasoned candy) with flowers, like this: and we''re going to work leaves into it, as well as pumpkins. Right now I''m thinking of numbering the tables on large shapes, like acorns, pumpkins, leaves and things like that, and then having corresponding placecards shaped like the table item. I''m not sure yet, but so far I love it! The Save the date has an acorn on it, since the whole theme started with my acorn necklace I bought to wear.

When I talked about the placecards, I meant to put a chart up with the seating arrangements (i.e. who is at what table) and then they go to the table to find their name. That''s how it''s done in my family. I would do the placecards like this below, but shaped like leaves, pumpkins and acorns and whatever else I think of.

I love it. I really like how you are carrying your theme throughout with all these details.

Bambina, I''m afraid that after our wedding I''ll never want to see another pumpkin again! Thank you, though! My friend worked hard, and I think it came out perfectly. We chose lowercase letters because Paul liked that better than script for some reason.

I wanted to do something kind of like that, but I''m afraid that our initials are S & M.

I CAN''T do that at a country-club wedding!!!

Sum, MAN, that sucks. Ours just looks like a mini-mart.

LOL, ours are T & A. I feel your pain.

Amber, I just love your ideas. I really like fall and miss it a lot now that I live in FL from WI. I don't get to see the fall colors like I used to. Your wedding sounds really unique and memorable! Centerpieces are gorgous! Don't forget the Indian Corn and maybe some really pretty colored gords?

BWAHAHAA.... Yeah, that doesn''t work either!

Wow, I''d reaaaally rather be Associated Press instead of T & A.

Well, growing up my frist name is a color, and my LAST name is a color, so I got a lot of crap, too. In high school I was a TA for a class and one of the little pervs called me a great "T & A" in my yearbook. In pen. Little bastard.

Ack, ours wouldn't work either: B&J!

ETA: when did I revert to age 12?

ETA AGAIN! Back on topic, I love the monogram and your colors! I would have loved a fall wedding, but it would have been too chilly for a sailboat wedding.

So cute, amber! The centerpieces are fantastic -- so fun and colorful!

Oh now I want to go apple picking

Oooh! I really like your monogram!

Thanks so much, everyone! I wish I could take credit of it, but no. I can take credit for having not so horrible initals! My friend was a godsend regarding this wedding stuff. My monogram, had I had to do it would be like, a crappily written out A and P, looking like I drew it with a foot. Me = bad with things that are technical.

And I also wanted to say to Amber - love all your other ideas!!!

(& DON'T POST the STD's until I fiddle with that acorn some more!!) I felt so mean not commenting on this thread but I figured I'd come out sooner or later and then I'd look like an idiot for complimenting myself!

anyone see that reality show about nick and aaron carter? their sister's name is BJ - like Barbara Jean or something but is always known as BJ

No thank you just call me Babs!

oh and ETA - I love your monogram!!!

Thanks Albi- and I appreciate the help! And like I told you before, Modesty is for Losers! (just kidding)

Starset, my boss''s 84 year old mother is called BJ, and yes, I do snicker every time I hear it.

amber - i love the design.

albi -- throw this into your fledgling portfolio, it''s fantastic!

and sumbride is there some reason you can''t make your initials MS instead of SM. is there some sort of rule for which person''s initial goes first?

Thanks Lulu!!!

I was too scared to cross-post to my other thread but I''m glad someone from over there found this and put the pieces together.

I agree with Lulu, Sumbride, can''t you put his initial first?

traditionally the bride's initial is first because you aren't supposed to separate his first name from his last name. So it would be Jane & Bob Smith, Not Bob & Jane Smith. Same applies to initials. It's silly, yes. I actually made our webpage with his name first just because I didn't want people to get used to seeing mine first. Of course, if you put his initial first, and then add his last initial, we're MSG! I told him that and he said "well, we do like chinese food!" I've been playing around with the last initial in the middle which would be SGM and that looks better but feels too complicated for me.

eta: besides, if we did MS, it would be either Multiple Sclerosis or Ms. And M&S is the name of a restaurant in DC so it always reminds me of that.

Fata: AWESOME!! That makes it sooo much easier to do the placecards!!! Thanks!

Sum, could you just use the last name initial? There are a ton of different fonts for it. I just saw this china at Pottery Barn that has a monogrammed letter on it. I LOVED it.

Amber -
I''ve been thinking about that too, but it feels weird since it won''t be my initial until after the ceremony... but it might look good on the cake! I''ve never really liked cursive for G so I''ve been practicing writing it using a regular G and then script for the rest of the name. I bet I could come up with something that would work.

Oh, and I just realized i never told you how much I liked your monogram and designs! They''re awesome! Albi did a great job!

Amber, love the colors and the design! Best of luck to you!
