I asked for advice a few weeks ago about getting a second dog - and really appreciated all the responses. We did in fact get the second dog, and the two are getting along great
My older dog is a king charles spaniel, age 5 - his name is Rip. He's the greatest dog i have EVER had- fun loving, snuggly, and loves all animals and humans. I was never a small dog person until i found cavaliers - they are amazing dogs.
Our new puppy is who knows what!?!? her mom looks like a mini golden retriever, but with upright ears. In the puppy mix, it looks like it's possible there is some collie/shepherd in there. Her name is Rhonda (thanks to my DH, who's always yelling "help me rhonda" around the house) and she's chocolate brown with blue eyes. I think she'll be around 35 lbs., but again - the jury is still out on that.
The puppy is puppy-like , but sweet and adorable, and the older dog is like a new man! play play play all the time, which i was worried about - he loves her. follows her everywhere and checks on her and they snuggle - i love it. Of course, as i am sleep deprived now, puppies can be irritating, but overall it's going REALLY well!!!!
edit: this is rhonda and DH eating dinner!!
