Our Scavenger Hunt

Just had to share...We had our own hunt! My friends invited us to dinner at their new house and when we arrived we found a note on the door w/our names in a heart, a bottle of sparkling wine & a cooler. The cooler was for the dessert I brought, the wine had a note leading us to Starbucks. We get to starbucks and get a bag w/some coffee beans and another note leading us to Bed bath and Beyond. Upon our arrival there, we get a package w/a coffee grinder, two mugs and a note about eating down under- starbucks. Once we get into starbucks we find our friends along with two other couples for a surprise engagement dinner. How sweet! One couple brought us a recipe for trifle and the actual trifle in a cooler w/the dish to keep. Our other friend gave us a lovely card w/flowers and a balloon. I''m on cloud nine. It was so nice and unexpected. It makes you think twice about family /friends...I have yet to receive a phone call from anyone of my cousins/aunts/uncles. I''m excited, though, that my friends came through. So sweet...

thanks - tybee they are sweet. i have a typo - down under = outback...oops. I was really surprised b/c i''ve only known these women/men for a short while. Two couples for 3 yrs and one couple for 7 months. We teach at the same school and each of us moved here from different states so we are an extended family for one another. I am beside myself, though because I never expected it in a million years - so thoughtful!!!!

I don''t think I would have thought of this myself either. Now I feel bad that I didn''t do more for my friends when they got engaged last year!

I''ll get the cards out of the car and repost their origninal messages incase you need them! As a teacher, I''ve learned to avoid reinventing the wheel whenever possible...lol

The notes were so cute! She put bridal hearts/cars and ribbons on them(scrapbook materials).

What a great idea!! That''s so cool! I may have to steal that for my friend whom I think should be getting engaged around the time of our wedding.

That is sooooo sweet, you have awesome friends...i too am discovering that my friends have come through way more than my family...It has really hurt my feelings on more than one occasion, but I guess it''s times like these that you really find out what your relationships are made of...

thanks guys! I am still smiling. I had to tell my kids about it today during Writer''s Workshop - I wrote about my weekend and told my kids about the scavenger hunt. When I reviewed the 5ws in my writing I asked if they knew why we went out to dinner and one of my girls said, "Duh, because you''re getting married!" They''re so cute! lol. Steal away - I would love to do it for the next group that gets married or has a kid...very cute!
