I should start by saying I’m not well versed in diamonds, specs, and their respective pricing.

This group helped me land my existing solitaire diamond (7.55ct L SI1 Round Brilliant with faint fluorescence). Have been searching for oval stones that would match for an eternity band.

After months of exploring, found my ideal ratio for ovals (length to width ratio of 1.6) from a local jeweler.

I guess I’m looking for perspective on whether this is an appropriate number for the following stones. Most of them are GIA certified, the others I’m trusting their assessment. Price we’ve landed on is 30k for a total carat weight of 10.47

I’m no expert…i mentally said I’d want to pay no more than $2k/stone with those specs, and you are. The ring and mounting the stones isn’t free. So I think you’re ok there, if you want to be done. The market is very soft for diamonds now, but I am not in the trade, so I can’t really say if you could do better. It’s a lot of work to source that many stones.

All of that being said, some people here say don’t go by the paper, but I would never buy an I1 clarity stone.

Welcome back!

Are you planning to wear this with your soli? If so, I would recommend going with J/K color stones.

Both ways - with solitaire and on its own. I’ve seen them in person and they match quite well. Solitaire stone faces up whiter bc of faint florescence.

I would worry about durability issues with an I1 clarity stone being in an eternity band, because that diamond may face the bottom of your finger sometimes and that's a spot that takes a lot of abuse, like bumping against metal door handles, granite countertops, etc. It really depends on the type and location of the inclusions as to whether it would be an issue or not. (Maybe I'm a worrywart, but I'd also look at the clarity characteristics of those SI2 diamonds as well to make sure they can handle a lot of knocking about, which they probably can, but I'd just want to make sure.)
