Hey luckystar,

I thought I remember you telling me that you got your dress from the Princess Bridal in Spring. Am I right? What were your experiences with them? Have you received your dress yet?

HI!

Yup, I did end up getting my dress from them. Have you been? I'll respond assuming you haven't.

My experience was pretty good there. When I pulled into the parking lot and saw the store (which was basically a house) I thought to myself that there was no way I was going to find my dress there. Inside, their selection only takes up two small rooms. I'd say there are only like 100-150 dresses tops. I know they have casablanca...maybe a couple of maggies? Can't remember. The second one I tried on was the one I ended up getting.
Notables:
-This was the only shop where the girl was going to actually come IN the dressing room with me. I wasn't ready for that! If you're weird about that like I am, just tell them you're wearing inappropriate underwear. That's what I did! lol.
-When I tried on the dress it fit perfectly, it just needed a hem, but when the girl measured me she pulled the tape REALLY tight. Later when I called to order the dress, she told me she wanted to go one size down from what I tried on. I told her not to, and I'm glad I did...cause when I went back there with a friend about a week later I tried on the dress and realized that there was no way a smaller size could fit me, PLUS another girl was there to pick up her bridesmaid dress and it was too small. I overheard her telling someone else that worked there that she was measured too tight. And the wedding she was in was a week later! Total nightmare. So stick with you gut (pardon the pun) when it comes to sizing.

My dress isn't in yet. She said that it will be ready in four months, so I still have a couple to go. I'm so excited!!

Wanted to add--
Whatever you do, do NOT go to Panache bridal on 1960. That place was so gross. It smelled funny...it was crowded...and all the dresses were pretty much RUINED. I''m talking make-up stains all in the inside, beading all torn off the dresses, the little loopty-loops inside the dress that you use to hang it on the hanger were broken. It was a mess.

Thanks for the head''s up! I haven''t been up to that store yet, but was going to get up there on Saturday to order my Casablanca (yay!). I decided to go with them because there were the ones nice enough, and the only ones in Houston, willing to get the dress on loan from the designer. I had to drive to College Station to actually try it on (you know the story), so I haven''t physically been there yet.

I''ll make sure to stick to my gut on measuring me too tight- I''m glad you told me!

BTW, funny you wrote about Panache-- I just wrote a similar comment about my experience with Something Blue Bridal on Citysearch. They were so nasty, some of the dresses had ciggy burns on them, and the associate''s baby was running around crying and getting into my purse! Blech. If you have any engaged friends, tell them beware.

YAY! Maybe we''ll get our dresses early! I''ve heard from others that Casablanca is pretty fast.

Ugh when I left Panache I seriously wanted to email some of the designers and let them know how their dresses were being handled. I never did though.
