So, here are pics of items I don''t wear. (I was off on my original earring specs. I''ve confused past and present items, and added an item I want to keep.)

The list of available pieces:
.10 rb diamond (in solitaire setting)
four 3pt baguettes (in wedding set)
eight 1.5pt rbs (in wedding set)
melee from heart pendant (additional melee available)
approx 50 3pt rbs (in bracelet, big pain to reset I imagine, but bracelet doesn''t fit)
1/10 ctw rbs (earrings)
1/4 ctw rbs (earrings)
1/2 ctw rbs (earrings)

the pear in the wedding set has a previous engagement (HA HA HA!!) It''s going to become a pendant with a halo.

The only ideas I had for the items was using the seven rbs from the earrings and the .10 ring for a journey pendant, but I don''t know if the matching sizes would look weird.
The other idea would be to use the earrings as a three stone with bars between them to give them more of a drop look. BUT, I''ve never particularly wanted a journey pendant or three stone earrings (in that fashion). I would like to make some of these stones into something I would wear again.

BTW- WHITE gold is the preference now.

Thanks for any help, suggestions, advice!

I condensed items for pics. Sorry I can''t figure out how to post more than one pic at a time!

Oh, guess I should mention I wear lots of earrings and necklaces (various styles), very few rings (they have to be PERFECT), and no bracelets. I like vintage, art deco, traditional styles, nothing too contemporary. And, I wear diamonds almost everyday. (yay for me!) So, I want to get a lot of wear out of these.

Again, thanks for anyone''s input!!

Oh, oh. The pressure is on now!

SomeShinyThing I see a few things here. I am not a fan of the journey jewelry at all.

The 3 pairs of studs would be great in a pair of dangle earrings. I love leverbacks with dangles. I would put little o rings between each diamond so they move. Each ear would have about .40 carats. The nice thing about that is the jeweler can leave the diamonds in their settings, snip off the post and you''d onlly have to pay for the leverbacks and the little orings and his work. If you don''t want the "snowman" look they could probably mount them in an open teardrop or ladder of gold.

You say the bracelet doesn''t fit. Is it too big or too small? They can cut it down if it''s too big. It it''s too small something I had done on bracelets before is have them add a link. I bought an inexpensive gold bracelet that had about 1/3 inch heart links. I had the jeweler add a heart with a few o rings to make the bracelet longer. Since I like hearts and the addition was by the clasp; it looked fine. Of course after loosing a ton of weight I had to have all the extra links removed but the bracelets still looked fine.

If you don''t want the bracelet maybe make earrings out of the bracelet. You could cut it apart in different lengths (maybe with 9, 8, 7 or 9, 8, 8 diamonds) and put them on a dangle that comes off a post. I had a similar pair in all gold and liked all the motion.

If you like the heart pendant at all maybe you could have them put the .10 solitaire at the point of the heart.

Something I see in your wedding set is I wonder if they could cut the baguettes and round diamonds out of the ring and make post earrings out of them. I''d wear the baguettes at the bottom kind of like a leaf.

This would probably cost a fortune but you could pull out all the diamonds and have them mounted as pave or gypsy set in tear drop shaped pieces of gold to match - pendant and earrings. I would arrange them from top to bottom from smallest to largest size. The earrings could be about 3/4 of an inch long and the pendant could be about 1 to 1 1/2 inches.

The jeweler will probably charge for each stone mounting so any time they can use existing settings it will save you money. I''ve found the custom jewelry can be pricey.

I hope some of this helps give you some ideas. I''ll be anxious to see if you get something new made out of your diamonds. I will post a picture of my ring when I get it back that I am having made with some PC diamond studs.

Thanks Marcy! I love the ideas for putting the studs on a leverback with o-rings. I need something that can move and catch the light through my big hair! I''m sure a pendant could be made, but my local custom jeweler charges $40/stone for labor. This is pretty pricey, but I don''t have many choices in my area. Would one of the PS vendors do it?

$40 a stone is pricey. The guy I use is downtown so he isn''t paying rent in a mall. If there are a lot of stones he''ll do them for about $7 to $10 a piece. I think he charges $15 to $20 for setting one or two stones. He never breaks down his charges on a bill so I think he just comes up with a "price". I haven''t had any custom jewelry done online so I can''t offer any suggestions there. I think the leverback earrings would be really nice. Let me know what you decide to do. If I think of anything else; I''ll let you know.

Thanks, Marcy.

this thread is open to all suggestions! (hint hint to passers-by!)

Okay, so I LOVED the idea of having the three sets of earrings made into drops with o-rings. I went into my local custom jeweler today. I figured since I would keep the existing settings, just have the post clipped and rings added, it would be fairly inexpensive. I even decided to leave the one set with their posts so I didn''t have to do the cost of putting them on a lever back. So, the whole procedure would be removing four posts, and adding 4 rings (or 8 depending on how they hung). Total cost $150! That is crazy! My great-uncle just told me about a guy who still does jewelry on the side. This jeweler designed my aunt and uncle''s wedding bands about 50 years ago. I''ve always loved both their rings, so I''m going to see if he will help me out.

Just had to vent a bit. AHHH. That''s better.

OMG! That seems really high to me. Do check out the jeweler your great-uncle recommends. If he doesn''t work out, I would keep checking. I have good luck with independant, local jewelers. Let me know what happens.

Somethingshiny, do you have your new earrings yet?
