Pave band with 30 – 40 pointers (5 stone) & visible cutlets?

I think want a pave band with a deep U-cut or scallop profile to see the cutlets of the stones. I couldn't find a lot examples out there. Has anyone done a pave band with larger 30-40 point stones? Is there any reason not to?

I want to stack my 5 stone band with my ER without a spacer when I want to wear them together. And I want to avoid the small holes under the cutlet since it's difficult to clean.

Thanks in advance!

That might make your band really protrude, the height high. Would you be comfortable with that?

Can you post some pictures of your ering? You really need some kind of edge on the 5 stone to keep the girdles from eating into
your ering or depending on the design of your ering, it may have some metal that will hold off the 5 stone. We need a side view of
your ering.

Just FYI...In general, I consider this a 5 stone band...not pave, because the size of the stones are somewhat large.

Thanks everyone. I came across a 3 stone CZ huggie with a deep U setting today. The stone will eat into my ER. I think need something with a rail, like a basket with an airline or a cup that comes out past the griddle.

I'll try to take pictures tomorrow during the day

Have you put a 30 to 40 point 5-stone ring next to your ering? Just wanted to say that most PSers, unless they had a really large
ering , would not pair this combination because it makes your ering stone look smaller. YMMV and buy/wear what you like,
of course. Just thought I'd bring it up.

Have you seen this ring that belongs to @cflutist? It is a smaller than you want eternity but it has built-in rails that hold the stones
off her ering. It might help give you some ideas.

Yes! @cflutist 's band is the style I want. Thank you so much @tyty333 I've been trying to describe this to my sales associate as prongs protruding from the stone. They may have gotten it if I called it a built in spacer.

I wanted a 5 stone with full finger coverage to wear by itself everyday. I don't wear my engagement ring and channel wedding band set often. I'm fine if it's unproportionate on the days I wear the engagement ring.

My 2ctw 5 stone ring from Costco arrived. I'll post pictures in Show Me the Bling and add the link here.

I’ve considered buying that Costco ring! Let me know what you think of it!

@tyty333 I think found it! Stackable U pongs that are "flat". Thank you!

This real life example is clunky but it shows what I want. The metal under the diamond is wider than the diamond.

My top 3 would be these rings

There’s so many terms I picked up on this search. I thought I would share for others who don’t want to wear an extra spacer band.
  • Built-in spacer
  • "safe" shared prong bands, you just need to have the metal seat exceed the diamter of the diamond itself as described by Cehrabehra and created by LLJsmom
  • Flat band
  • Stackable bands

I came across another vintage band that looks safe to stack

I have always liked these vintage bands because, in my experience, they do sit flush without the girdles affecting the prongs of the e-ring. It's like each diamond has its own setting within the overall mounting. I believe these vintage ones are called fishtail mountings and there are some that are called V-prong mountings/settings. The other thing l like about these vintage bands is the design proportion. I have always found them to fully span just the top part of the finger (from baby finger to middle finger) without any diamond/prong "overage" that can feel rough. Meaning you can have all of your fingers positioned fully closed together and you don't have the prong/diamond rubbing on the adjacent fingers.

Also, I remember the company called "Precision Set" had flush set bands as well, with those flattened protective prongs.
