I've been a lurker on this site for a while now, and I finally decided to come out of my shell because I need the type of wedding set wisdom that I've come to believe only pricescopers can provide. My fiance and I got engaged a few months ago, but we're still saving for the ering (he's a medical student, so the saving takes a while). So poor me.... I've had all these months and probably several more to sit at my computer and drool over hundreds of pictures of beautiful rings, thinking I've finally decided on "the one" (the ring, not the guy) only to change my mind again ten minutes later.

Long story short, I have come to ADORE many of the pave wedding sets I've seen posted on this website. I've also noticed that it seems like most of the people posting these photos have very small fingers. When I've tried on pave sets myself, it seems like any set with an engagement setting and wedding band wide enough to be worn on their own look blindingly bright when worn together. I'm guessing this is because my fingers are size 7, so many of the very delicate sets I love seeing on others are too thin for me. I definitely want to be able to wear the band on its own at work as well as with the engagement ring, and I've found anything much under 3mm looks too small.

So here are my questions:

1) Does anyone out there with a ring size around 7 have photos of a pave wedding set? And how wide are your bands?

2) For all ladies with pave wedding sets, were you at first overwhelmed by how bright the sets looked on your own fingers? Maybe I'm just not used to seeing so many diamonds on my own hand...

And lastly,

3) I'm considering going with a plain solitaire ering and getting a diamond band to tone down the brightness, but I'm wondering if I would regret this. I love the look of pave engagement ring settings and pave wedding bands, and I love them together on other people, but I haven't been able to appreciate them on myself. Has anyone else been in this situation?

Here is mine. The e-ring is 6 7/8 but the eternity is a 7. I love a plain band as well and had a really hard time deciding. In
the end, I just love the bling and sparkle and it makes me happy to look at it so I went with three sided pave. My e-ring band is
2.2 mm, which is smaller than I ever thought I would wear, but I have grown to love it. Sometimes I wear it alone also, but mostly
together.

Mine is a size 7, 1.8 mm pave. I love it, so delicate and really makes my one carat pop!

This is how I wear it now with a 5mm band. I do have a 1.5 mm diamond eternity band from lOGR on order and should be here very soon. I post pictures when it arrives.

If you get a pave set (E-ring and W-ring) with really thin bands it wouldn't look too bright. Something around 2mm or less will look nice. In my opinion, if you get a plain band, you will start to see scratches over time and the overall appearance of your set will look worn down. My sister chose to have a plain solitaire for her E-ring and a pave for her W-ring and now she doesn't like the plain.

It's been a few days since I've logged on, but I wanted to say for the record that those are beautiful rings!! Thank you so much for the pics. I love both looks, but I've decided to go with the pave. We'll probably be engaged at least a couple years, so I've decided it's too early to worry about the wedding band now. I'll deal with that later and wear what I want now :)

First, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, why on earth would you ever want to tone down the brightness?????? that's madness. the diamonds will look less bright to you over time anyway, so don't help that process along :wink2:

I wear a size 7 too, and i spent A LONG time looking for my engagement ring - I went back and forth, between pave and not pave. in the end, i got a substantial sized eternity band, and I DO believe that the size of my fingers and what looked good on them to me while i was shopping. I think pave rings looked ok on me, and if i had done the pave ering, i would have definitely gotten a pave set with a band i could wear alone.

Wish i had some pics for you...

eta: sorry! just saw that you had decided on the pave - great! show us some of the things you are looking at so that we can drool along with you :appl:
