Well, I just surprised myself by falling in love with a pink stone at the Tucson JOGS show. The glow in low light and sparkle in person is gorgeous! I'm really not sure how to describe this other than peachy and pink all at once. She is just over 2 carats, 7.5 mm precision cut from Eldorado Sapphire Company. I've traditionally been more drawn to blue, green and purple. Thinking of creating a three stone ring with pale green or blue pear/trillions, maybe spinel or tourmaline. Headed back to Tucson this weekend to look at settings/side stones and would love some ideas on coordinating gemstones for this project.
First saw this vendor and his Malaya/Mahenge garnets at the 2020 show and determined to come back in 2021 ready to buy. Was amazed to see the same grape color change Malaya garnet from 2020, almost bought that one, but in the end this was the winner. Might snatch up the purple one this weekend.
