Hi everyone!

I'm getting married in october and trying to put together gemstone drop earrings for the wedding for under $1000 total. I'm thinking something like this in terms of design:

https://www.bluenile.com/blue-topaz...ustomizer&track=alternate-gemstonesCustomizer

I'm thinking about either rhodolite garnets, tsavorites, tourmaline, or morganites (open to suggestions) in either a pear or oval shape. I prefer lighter stones and can't stand when they black out - I'd rather have less saturation than a stone that blacks out. Trying to stay fairly sizable (10x8 or bigger maybe?) since my hair will be up, so these will be the main attraction :)

I came across these:

Anyone have any thoughts on this pair of stones? Or alternatives? Worried these might be a little dark once set but the color is beautiful.

Any vendor recommendations that can do the setting pretty cheaply? Willing to do sterling silver because I'd rather spend the money on the stones (or save it, lol). Thanks!!

Those Rhodolites will probably end up too dark once set.
Also the first link is a blank. It would help to be able to see the design to figure out the setting cost, then decide on how much is left for the stones. If it's going to be custom, I'm not sure how much silver is going to save you since there's still CAD costs.

Argh, I can't get the link to post properly. It's basically just dangle earrings with small pave down the drop, and a thin halo around the stone. I can drop the halo if the stones themselves are big enough to be eye catching.

Thanks for the link, Chrono. Looks like my budget just isn't right for this hobby. I'll shelf this project indefinitely. Thanks for your help!

I don't think you have to give up yet! A custom design with a ton of pave is out of your budget, but there are plenty of other options. Maybe reach out to Joe Escobar? He has these lovely pearl drops for under $400 and these tourmaline ones are just a hair over your budget at $1050. IJ Jewelry might be another good option. These ones and these ones remind me of your inspiration, and it they are stock settings then they should be able to recreate them with a different center stone, depending on what you're looking for.

HI:

Thing is, you can buy really beautiful, ready made, earrings for your wedding. No need to stress about deadlines, design, before an October (assuming 2017) wedding date. Might be a bit tight for (strictly) "custom" work.

How can be best help you?

cheers--Sharon

My vote is for the morganites, if rose gold looks good with your skin tone :)

morganites.jpg These are gorgeous! Soft enough to flatter a bride.

Looks like I don't know how to attach a picture...

HI:

Both very pretty! I love morganite--so those would be my choice. IRL, the stones might be pale compared to the picture.

cheers--Sharon

I love Morganite and that would be my choice from the examples shown above. Pearls, Diamonds and Morganite can look very bridal.
