I apologize for the bad photos. This is the first time that I have taken photos of anything and posted them on the internet. I know I didn''t do a good job getting a clear picture of how the diamond sparkles but I just wanted to get opinions on my new ring. I think it is quite unusual and wondered if I am the only one who likes it. The diamond is 1.25 cts it is D in color and a SI 2. It came from a tiffany style setting and I had it put in this one yesterday. It is suppose to be two tone but it appears as though they never re-rhodium plated it after they sized it. I did''t notice untli I got home because I picked up right at closing. Anyway, I was thinking about adding some diamonds up the side of the band that has none. It is the side of the ring that faces my pinky. Let me know what you think...

Ohhhhh I love pears. I love the shape on yours!!

Do you have any pics that are zoomed out a bit more, ie: show more of your hand so we can put the ring in perspective? It is very individual, I like it... it reminds me of times gone by, a little bit retro?

Love that pear!!

This is the side of the ring that I wanted to add diamonds to...

I wish I knew how to do that. I origional photos I took were zoomed out and looked pretty good. I had to crop them to get them under the 100 kb limit. That is the only way I know how to do it. I am so ignorant when it comes to things like this. I was excited just to get them on the computer period.

I think as long as you love it, that is what matters.

Very pretty ring...I love how unique it is!

You have a very pretty stone and a like your new chunky modern setting.

I think the only safe way to have your jeweler add diamonds to your ring on the side near your pinky is to burnish them in. They can''t create a channel once a ring is done. Anything other than burnishing would be too risky.

very pretty!

What does it mean to burnish them in? Does it mean that it won''t look like the others? I really thought jewelers could do just about anything...

It is a very interesting setting... I love it! So sparkly!

I do not think that I would add more diamonds.

The ring is very structural, I wonder if more sparkle would take from the design?

I really like your ring!! Very unique. But like Steel said, I don''t think I`d be adding any more diamonds.

Very pretty setting! I love your main diamond....it''s so white and sparkly!

Wow, what a unique setting!!

Burnishing is when diamonds are set into the gold without the help of either prongs, beads or a channel. They''re just placed into softened gold that has had a small hole drilled through to allow light to pass. A channel is something that''s carved into the wax, and then struck in the casting. It''s not created afterwards. The channel is an integral part of the design of the mounting. No jeweler, not even a great one, can saw a channel into a solid piece of gold.

Burnishing is what Whiteflash does to create their scatter bands. http://www.whiteflash.com/Wedding_Bands/Scattered-Diamond-Band_984.htm

Ooh - it looks lovely and sparkly, and that''s a very unique setting

I like it the way it is! Yummy pear!

I like that plain piece of metal. Not sure why, it just adds a nice balance to the ring. Your pear is super yummy.
