What a great idea for a forum; so many gorgeous new pearls, culture and designs!
My few pieces are from a different era, but I always enjoy them and thougt you might too.

This was one of my first eBay purchases, back in 1998. Originally a choker, it came out of a Florida estate and was attributed to the 1920''s.

First pic was daylight, this is by Flash.
I didn''t wear the choker much, so I purchased another nearly-matching period strand and had this extended into a necklace.

There were enough pearls left from the conversion to make a little bracelet.

This was to first strand I bought for the extension...it was brought back from Japan in the early ''40''s by a sailor as a gift to his wife. Turned out to be too nice to tear up, I kept it intact and found another to take apart.

This last set is a newer find, but still an estate piece with considerable age on it.
The mounting is kind of a 22k ''nugget'', and the little gem is a ruby.

All the pearls in these pieces are saltwater, none have any identifying marks.

Ronnilee, I love your vintage pearls. My favourite is the first one that you posted with the attached pendant. The earrings are really cool too. Thanks for sharing.

Those earrings are something else! High karat gold, you said? Is that a jacket, or one piece?

thanks for sharing!

Hi, Julie;
The earrings are each 1 piece of 22k gold; you''d have to bend the mount out of shape to remove the pearl.
Thanks for your comment, I''m glad you like them!

I love those old graduated strands!

Your earrings are really neat, too.

Looking back over this post, I''m not sure if I answered Julies'' question accurately the first time:
The earrings were designed as one-piece. The pictures make them look like the pearls are loose and interchangeable, but they''re not. They''re very tightly
gripped within the mount, don''t move at all and aren''t removeable.
Good question, though...I can see a similar design making an interesting and adaptable jacket.

They are fabulous! I hope you wear them often.

I''m a big fan of high karat gold and pearls.

Thanks!
