Short time lurker, first time poster!

I was recently referred to PS after posting in reddit during my diamond/ring search - over the last few weeks, I have tried to soak up as much info as I could about all things diamonds. I went back and forth with a few online vendors (predominantly the main recommended Whiteflash, Brian Gavin, Victor Canera) and a local jeweler, looking for the best bang for my buck. After a short but intense search, I finally decided on a non-signature (virtual) diamond from Brian Gavin in their knife edge solitaire setting, with the assistance of a great sales rep. I know the benefit of going with jewelers like Brian Gavin is typically for their in-house diamonds, but I felt this particular diamond presented the best value.

Everything about the diamond looked great (HCA: 1.2; StoneAlgo Cut Score: 9.4; GIA Report 2506109359) - the biggest concern being the strong blue fluorescence. I am still certainly no expert, however, after receiving the images, ASET, and final pics, all of my concerns about strong fluorescence/haziness was gone. I understand it will glow blue under UV lights, but thankfully my soon-to-be-fiancé does not typically go to clubs! haha.

So I just wanted to share some pics (and belated assurances on picking a winner is always welcome lol). Also, I appreciate any feedback on how a "strong blue" fluorescence looks in everyday settings (my untrained eyes still have trouble lol). I do not yet have the ring in hand (should arrive this week), with the proposal slated for this weekend!

Beautiful diamond & beautiful ring!

Lots of luck with the proposal & please come back with hand shots when she says yes!

IMG_1194.jpegIMG_1052.jpegIMG_1037.jpegHi, is this strong or very strong? I love, love my florescent diamonds. They look like blue light sticks under a UV flashlight. None of them go hazy or have a bad effect. The emerald does sometimes have a weird pink glow under sunlight, but that is just a weird thing with that diamond, and it is a very strong. Screenshot 2024-03-18 233650.pngIt is a super cool effect. I have a few strong and very strong blues, most lower color (not my actual e-rings but after the fact rings). The emerald ring is an L, but outside doesnt read so dark, it just looks like a lighter stone. Away from UV, it is a warm vanilla color. Under UV looks like a blue glow stick.

The strong blue stones are a nice bright glow under UV. Otherwise they look unremarkable and normal. I have a D color strong blue under uv, is the top round rock on the chain. Just looks bright no matter where it is.

As a cool added bonus, strong blue diamonds also are phosphorescent after the UV turns off they glow in the dark for a few seconds or more. One of mine has a yellow afterglow.

Thank you for the informative reply!! I agree it looks awesome under the UV light (hopefully my gf will feel the same), but glad to see it looks unremarkable under normal lighting condition (which was my biggest concern).

Please don't worry! Oh, also they may have told you this, but a well cut round will go dark under the bright sun. So if you take it outside to make sure it looks fine under UV and you see it go dark, rest assured you just have a well cut diamond. Check it out under shade.

The GIA cert didn’t show up for me - would love to see the numbers! Looks lovely and can’t wait for hand shots!

Sorry I've attached it again as a picture - hopefully it's viewable now! Everything looked great (no inclusions in table, great cut, color). The only hesitation was the "strong blue" fluorescence. I'm definitely eager to take it out in the sunlight when I get it to see how it reacts. I actually think it's a very cool feature, I can only hope my soon-to-be fiancéGIA.jpg thinks the same!

Looks very nice! Hope you both love the fluorescence!
