I am thrilled with a spur of the moment purchase I made last night (think 4 in the am). I wanted to do my nails and could not stand the idea of waitng for the polish to dry in between each coat. So I wandering up and down the aisles of Wally World I found Express Finish by Maybelline and they had white! Most guick dry colors dont. But I bought the white, base/top coat and Ivory in Seconds colors. They really do dry quickly! The whole french was done in about 15 minutes for mani/pedi. Super Spiffy! Oh and the ivory in seconds color is a pale pink that has a hint of glimmer but not glitter.

LOL - I''m just laughing picturing you shopping for nail polish at 4am! Thats something *I* would do! In my younger days before I started to go to bed at like midnight. :)

I have no life! I had driven to GA for an event and was on my way home...and felt the urge to stop.

Impulse control not a strong suit of mine.

hehe.. when FI and I first started dating.. we''d never go home until like 3am.. and we''re not bar people.. so we''d find things to do.. like wandering around walmart, or a grocery store, or sitting in a diner drinking soda.. lol..
But anyway.. the nail polish sounds fabulous! I love fast drying stuff.. but I hate spending money on nail polish cuz I can''t do my own nails without having them look like crap!

Ah but there are secrets my friend! Put on lotion first then wipe down your nails with acentone. Buffing your nails if they have any sort of riding will help to polish go on smoothly. If you get some on your hands no worries, it will come off in the shower. Too much polish on the brush makes it hard so wipe off one side on the bottle. If you want to do a french paint more then you want left and go back and remove the excess with a q-tip dipped in acetone. HTH.

It is dangerours getting me starting on doing nails. I spent alot of time babysitting little girls in HS and I can now draw anything with polish and toothpicks. With your I would the same things as above. Also make sure you file them in a basically straight line this cuts back on ingrown toe nails. To ensure a smooth edge to the nail get a stone file (about 2$ at Sally''s) and do a few swipes from the underside of the nails. Buff the top of your nails until smooth no ridges, and the use a buffing cream and buffer to make them shine. This might sound silly but this will help the polish stay on in my experince. Either wash your feet with soap and water or as I prefer swipe each nail with acetone. Then do the pedi the same was as your manicure. It takes a little practice but it is super easy once you get the hang of it.

awesome tips, Matatora! thanks for sharing them with me!

I''m also somewhat of a nail fiend - but my bi-monthly nail salon visits are better put towards sparklies, haha! yay for at-home tips, I''ll try them with the GFs next week!
