I know that a few people on this forum went to or are considering Petit St. Vincent for their honeymoon destination. I have a few questions:

- Since there are only 22 cottages, should someone book REALLY far in advance? Did you have any trouble booking?
- When did you go and how was the weather?

I know they are totally closed during September and October and that''s really a bummer! We were hoping for a fall wedding, but are seriously considering switching things around JUST to have this honeymoon because it looks amazing/beautiful/totally us. I''m still a LIW because I don''t wish to have a long engagement, we are just trying to get ideas about when this would need to be booked.

Any advice, experiences?

Typically with the Caribbean, things fill up much faster in the fall and winter than in the summer. We looked into Petite st Vincent, and it seems completely amazing. Everyone I know of who has been there loved it. I want to go someday myself. All I really know from my own research is that the most affordable time of year to go is the summer b/c that is when they are the least busy/crowded.

Have you checked out Tripadvisor.com You can probably find TONS of info and opinions there. They even have forums specifically geared towards each destination.

I found a lot of very good reviews and opinions but did not find much information on how far in advance to book. But I did not look in the forums so I should definitely go there.

I''m glad to hear that people had positive experiences. The reviews were mixed about the service and it seems like that could easily make or break a trip.

Thanks so much!

WOW! I have nothing to offer as far as reservation tips, but that place looks amazing!!!

Yeah, everything I read about every place tends to have mixed reviews on services. I finally decided that people are just WAY pickier than I ever will be (but hey, if people are used to a certain caliber of service, I guess they expect it. Me, I''m not used to being pampered). The place we stayed for our Honeymoon (In Turks and Caicos) had mixed reviews as far as service went, but when we went, I found that I have never had better service in my life. In fact, I was almost embarrassed by it. I can''t imagine what more people could have expected. Of course, then again, I am used to going on vacations and staying in timeshares or beach houses or cabins or places where you can call the front desk for extra towels, but then you''re basically on your own. I certainly wasn''t used to having the sheets changed every single day and the room cleaned 2-3 times a day. Maybe I''d been pickier if this type of vacation was normal for me. I debated a LOT about where to stay just based on reviews, but in the end I was super happy that we risked a few negative reviews and stayed there.

I think the best thing to do is decide how high your expectations are and what sort of previous vacation experiences you''ve had. Maybe the bad reviews are form people who are used to having a ridiculously high level of service as they travel.

Haha! Doesn''t it?

It looks totally dreamy and is less than half the cost of a Bora Bora vacation, which we are considering if we decide the season is more important than the honeymoon.
