Hi,

I just discovered that one of my Natural Fancy Intense Yellow diamonds has phosphorescence. This is a GIA-certified natural diamond. I uploaded a recording on YouTube:

I always thought that the phosphorescence phenomenon was only in Lab stones or in extremely rare type IIB diamonds. Could someone comment? Did I hit a jackpot?

Thanks for sharing Garry. Does that increase / decrease the value of the diamond?
Orange fluorescence makes the stone more orange in daylight and some other types of lighting. Orangish yellow is prized - the more orange the better.

My diamond is a fancy intense yellow and has yellow phosphorescence that lasts for ~30 seconds. I always thought it looked brighter in some lights. Good to know it was not just my imagination
