hi beau- this is totally off topic but how is your GERD? did you end up getting the surgery?

Hi Sugarplum, YES, I had the surgery 4 months ago, which has made it more manageable. I still suffer with pain, almost daily, but I am taking medication (again) to help it along. I feel better than I had before the surgery, and after losing 8 months of my life, I am back on track, enjoying life again! (Can''t you tell? lol). Thanks for asking..I assume you are contemplating surgery as well?

hey beau- glad to hear you''re doing better! no, i''m not thinking about the surgery! that scares me. i just get the occasional flare up and i''ll feel like i have a lump in my throat. it''s off and on... however lately it''s been more on than off. i''ve seen my dr. and have been told to take some over the counter meds. hopefully the meds will kick it to the curb!

btw, the photo of you on the building in "NY" is really cool!

Thanks Sugarplum..the things that seem to trigger it most for people, are alcohol, peppermint, ginger, spicy foods, and of course coffee and chocolate (they both actually loosen the opneing between the stomach and esophagus, making it stretched open more...resulting in more acid coming up from your stomach). Try Pariet, Nexium,or Panteloc if the over the counter meds don''t work. You must have a VERY mild case, whereas I had an extreme case, where double doses of medication weren''t taking the pain away! I needed the surgery, it wasn''t an option! Good luck!
