My "upgrade", so to speak, is my MIL''s original e-ring from when she was married to my husband''s father (they''d divorced > 10 years ago & she has since remarried). It''s a 1.5ct (but faces up more like a 1.25ct) round H, I1. It is in a simple white gold contour setting.
I alternate both rings with my wedding band, a 0.75 tcwt shared prong band. I was thinking about getting another 0.38ct round and making a 3 stone ring. What do ya think?
I love the 3 stone idea. My sister did a similar thing. She had a 1ct diamond from my side of the family and a .5 ct from her husbands side.. and her original ering was a funky setting with the two diamonds.. but as a christmas present one year, maybe after they were married 3 years.. they got the third diamond and upgraded to a GORGEOUS 3 stone. Both rings and your wedding band are BEAUTIFUL by the way.
Hi Patty! Yes, I am "t-rex" on DT but decided to change my name because I was tired of it. "Jellybean" is my daughter''s nickname.
I thought I would like it as a solitaire but I think I''m so used to wearing it as a "stand-alone" ring that I am thinking of the three stone ring. I just don''t think I''m a solitaire gal. I thought about getting another diamond all together (I posted another thread about it) but a lot of people suggested getting a 3-stone ring instead. Plus, my diamond band is totally scratching it!
