I have a question.

I know I want to take majority of pictures before the ceremony. I would like to do bride and groom pics, bridal party and some family pics before ceremony.

However, what family would that include? If I start including grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, then everyone will have seen me before.

Do you think I could just do immediate family, and then do the rest quickily after ceremony. We really want to go to at least part of our cocktail hour.

What did all of you do? Help, My wedding is next weekend! I need to make a decision.

I would just keep it simple, and whoever is going to be there pre-ceremony can participate in pre-wedding pics. No need to let every other relative and guest know you are posing for pics before the actual wedding takes place, just have the wedding party, both sets of parents maybe, and you and the groom.

I only did my bridal pics and BM's pics/and with me, and DH had his with his guys separately before the ceremony because we opted not to see each other until the actual ceremony. Nothing wrong with getting several things out of the way, though. You will be photographed during your cocktail hour and throughout the reception, so you could save the group relative photos for after dessert for sure. Ask your photographer how she/he normally does things with a timeline such as your wedding will have, they will probably give you great advice and know exactly how to handle whatever situation. Make a list of what photos you want this week and give it to them before the wedding (i.e. both families together--we forgot that one!--, certain special people/relatives with you and the groom, your long lost cousin who you never see but adore, etc.) so they can be prepared to track down all of you at once and get the required shot.
