Hi all, I wanted to share my new ring from Sally at Heart of Water.
It started with a large baby pink cat's eye tourmaline that I had lusted over for well over half a year. I was sure that it would sell quickly to someone else, but I had other projects and told myself to hold off on buying yet another gem! However, every so often I would check the listing and it would still be there. After a while, I realized I should just go ahead and get it as it was perhaps meant to be mine!
Here is a pic of the loose stone. It is 4.89 ct, 10.5mm wide and 5.5 mm tall. It's from lapicarey on Etsy.
I decided to send it to Sally. At first I wanted a simple bezel for it, but after discussing with Sally we realized that a prong setting would be best to allow for maximum light to reach the stone. In the end, we settled on a 6-prong lotus setting in yellow gold. Simple yet feminine, a perfect match for the soft pink color of the tourmaline.
Here are Sally's photos:
I received the ring today and it is beautiful! It's much nicer than in the photos.
Thanks for looking!
