Hi everyone
Im going through a fancy colored diamond phase (if you see my posts) and appreciate all your insights

I read many times that fancy colored diamonds without a gia report are a no no but I really liked a bracelet (vintage / pre-owned), the online seller looks legit and is being very responsive and has a good Instagram following and a shop website

It’s a considerable amount of money for me (7K USD) but I really like it, my concern is if it’s worth buying a diamond bracelet that isn’t certified? Is the price reasonable?

It’s pink rounds at the edge and various shades of champagne marquise in the center.

I have attached a photo of the bracelet for reference, I don’t know how to post videos yet.
would appreciate your feedback
Thanks in advance

Natural pink diamonds need to come with an appropriate lab report because they are both very rare and very expensive.
Diamonds can have a very slight “pink tinge” and/or they can be treated to create / improve a pink tint. Such diamonds that aren’t certified don’t really have any extra value because of their colour. The bracelet is also made in rose gold, that tends to impart a “pink tinge” as well.
The bracelet looks lovely, for its total carat weight that’s a reasonable price if the clarity is ok. Hard to tell from the photo but the diamonds might be I clarity range. Not great.
Does the vendor accept returns? Check on that before you buy. If you love the bracelet buy it as a 9 odd carat diamond bracelet where some of the diamonds have a bit of a pink tinge.

All lottery tickets are tempting.

It is possible to win, but as with all gambling the odds are with the house.

hello
So to give an update I have requested the bracelet to go for certification
GIA responded that they only certify loose diamonds
AGS responded they only certify white
IGI have accepted to certify the bracelet , so it will be sent to them

my question is what should the minimum info I should have on the certificate? As it is not per diamond I’m guessing

thanks in advance

Suggest that you go to a local jeweller where you live.
They can give you a good idea what should be on the certificate.
My jeweller has update my certificate for a diamond and emerald ring my Mother had and all the pertinent information is on that certificate.

So, does it just have round stones? The marquis diamonds shown seem to have a wide range of colors, including green and blue...?

I agree with what others have said and note that you can turn the advice around, too, to save money. You have to decide what you would settle for — for example, natural “fancy” level color, natural light pink tinge, color treated so long as it is a natural diamond, color-treated lab diamond is fine, etc.

If you want high quality natural fancy colored diamonds then demand a certificate. But if you just want something that looks kind of pink, so long as is a diamond, you might get away with some cheap pinkish-brown pretty melee set in rose gold. You don’t need to demand a certificate but you should still look for a return policy and get the item looked at by a local jeweler to make sure you got natural diamonds. And you should pay a lot less.

One of my favorite rings is my upside-down pink cushion cut 0.20 ct diamond set in rose gold from an Etsy seller. No certificate but I don’t care if it is fancy pink or pink tinge or light pinkish brown or painted with nail polish. It looks pink. I paid very little.

Gorgeous bracelet for the right price.

Hi Everyone!

I have received an IGI report, extract attached

I think that pic is enhanced. In real life you'll probably only see pink on some of the stones.
To me, I'd have to see it in person before committing because the larger middle stones will probably stand out much more than the small pinks. So they have to be really sparkly for me to pay 7k for that, but I have a feeling they're not.

Hello

What would you consider as the right price?

This is a video the seller has sent , do you think it sparkles?

Do the videos work?
It’s the first time I post videos so not sure

the videos are viewable.
i think this is a case where if you love it, get it. just make sure there's a return policy you're comfortable with.

You are really the one who can determine what you feel comfortable paying.

If you love it and there's a good return policy, you could buy it and have it appraised by a reputable independent appraiser. That way you know exactly what your getting, and it could help you determine if you are comfortable with the price.

Hope that helps.

Hi

I received a certificate (picture above) and as you mentioned the clarity is i1-i2 .
1. Would you have an idea about what a fair price would be? Also considering this is a vintage piece so not brand new .
2. would the i clarity affect the shine / sparkle of the diamonds?
thanks in advance
