Hello:
I am new here. I have a question but no picture! What is a ball park price range we should pay for a Pink Sapphire center stone ring. Here are the stats: 1.5 carat (6mm cushion cut pink sapphire) and two trillion cut diamonds .35 ctw (G-H color SI1 clarity) on either side. The metal is Platinum (weight 4.5 grams.) We just received the ring, and its lovely, however we want to take it to be appraised. Know of any gemstone appraisers in the Los Angeles area? Any help you could offer would be great!

You ask us to do the impossible. Without seeing the stone we can not ethically give opinions, since we might be right on, or WAY off. We know nothing of the cut, the color or the clarity. The fact that you state the stone to be beautiful is a great start, but none of us in the trade can ethically offer an opinion of value without knowing much more about the stone. For example, if it is a Richard Homer cut stone, then we automatically assume the price to be higher than if it is a poorly cut stone with a huge window.

You will enhance the ability of the appraiser to do a good job for you by providing any special information, such as the name of the cutter if custom cut, when you have the stone appraised.

Ok, sorry for asking the impossible! Your help/advice is appreciated. Unfortunatly we do not know the name of the cutter. Again, the ring is lovely cusion cut, with a deep pink color, however I know that doesn't help you at all! Just trying to get an idea before taking it in to an actual appraiser. Thank you again.
