Planning updates

The holidays were a hectic time, and it''s been even crazier back at work afterwards, so I haven''t had much time to post. We got a few things accomplished - I got new wedding shoes, and we have paper and envelopes for our save-the-dates. My brother''s girlfriend and I went bridemaid''s dress shopping and she picked out her dress. My fiance gave me gorgeous earrings for Christmas that I''m planning to wear at my wedding, as well as any other possible place they may be appropriate

We''ve pretty much decided to go on a cruise to eastern Canada for our honeymoon, so I just have to start working on my wardrobe for that

We''re still working on the rehearsal dinner, and finishing up the save-the-dates. My dress is supposed to come in in another month or so, and I can''t wait!

What have you gotten done lately?

And here''s the bridesmaid dress she picked. I haven''t decided if I''m going to ask my other bridemaid to order the same dress, or another dress in the same color. It will be in olive green dupioni silk with a celery green sash.

Hey Basil! I love those earrings, they're gorgeous! FI did well! That bridesmaids dress is really cute too. I feel like with the gathered neckline, it would look really flattering on lots of different body types. Yay for getting your shoes, STD stuff and deciding on your honeymoon! I'd love to see pics of the shoes as well as your dress (although I'm sure there's a thread on it that I could search for).

I think that I would have chosen something different for the bridemaids dresses if I were wearing it myself, but brother''s girlfriend is very conservative (even though she''s a skinnie minnie) and didn''t want anything strapless or figure hugging. That''s why I don''t know what to do for bridemaid #2...cause she''s a little more trendy with her fashions.

Here are my shoes. I *heart* them. I wanted a chunky-ish heel since the ceremony aisle is sort of gravely and the cocktails will be on grass. Plus, I think they are cool and vintage-y.

Hey Karasue,

It is the Siri Harvard dress. It comes in a variety of fabrics...we were deciding between shantung and dupioni, but I liked the texture of the dupioni, plus the colors were more what I had in mind.
