Hi all,

I am one of those "lurkers" who religiously read this website but never registered. But now I have a question and I am not sure what to do and everyone here is so knowledgeable

Here is the situation: my fiance and I purchased our rings from bluenile.com, in an attempt to get something different I chose three platinum eternity bands to stack, a la Tiffany celebration rings. Two channel set half-carat bands and one 3-carat shared prong band. I received them last weekend and have been trying them out around the house, but I have come to the conclusion that the channel set bands are not as high of quality and do not sparkle like the 3-carat and my Tag Aqua racer watch with diamonds REALLY puts the diamonds to shame. It has made me sick the last couple days, but I cannot live with these rings, they really take away from the 3-carat band and I need something of a higher quality. Now, just from wearing them around the house they already are showing a little wear because they are stacked with the shared prong and I don''t think that BN will accept them as "new, non-worn." But because they have been only worn around the house, no housework, just admired, and maybe some work on the computer they are not at all bad or have serious scratches, I am thinking of having them polished or cleaned at a reputable jeweler (I am in Vegas if anyone has any recommendations.) But my question is, will this work? If I have them polished will BN be able to tell? I just hate to lose out on this money but every time I look at theses rings I know that they just don''t make me happy and I don''t know what to do! I haven''t called BN yet because I don''t even know how to approach it with them, any advice is welcome!!! Thank you for reading!!

What is Blue Nile''s return policy?

Hello,

You might have thought you were getting a deal purchasing from Blue Nile, but the truth is you are NOT. The quality may not be as great as your "3-carat" since they tend to use I-J color I1 clarity and claim to be selling G-H color SI clarity.
Have the rings taken to a jeweler for a light polish and send them back. They would never know.

Good Luck.

If you weren''t sure you liked them why did you wear them around the house? Were you aware that the shared prong would have edges up against the channel set rings?

BlueNile has a 30 return policy however it does say "in its original condition". They are going to assess it for wear or alterations. If you are going to get it polished and returned you may or may not be able to pass it off to them.

Thank you, you answered my question. It wasn't that I thought that I was getting a deal at BN, it was the fact that I didn't have to deal with sales people, which is what I cannot stand.

Thanks again!

I wore them around the house to see if I would like them???

Thank you for your kind response...
