Hi all :wavey:

I listed this last year before I moved from the US to Australia. I thought I would try to sell it then before moving to make it easier. It didn't sell and has sat in my drawer for the last year. So it's time to see if anyone out there wants a steal of a setting!

I originally listed it for $3500, probably too much. I ended up reducing it to $2000, current retail is over $4,000. Sooooo, I am relisting it at the reduced price of $2000 firm, plus buyer pays shipping (approx $70) and Paypal fees.

Bear in mind that this setting was made at the original factory before VC was purchased and moved out of SF to Redlands. Larry himself oversaw it as they somewhat messed up my original setting request!

Here is the link to the original sales thread with lots of pictures and info: https://www.pricescope.com/forum/pr...d-platinum-van-craeynest-setting-t170655.html

I have listed it on Loupe Troop: http://loupetroop.com/listings/settings/platinum-van-craeynest-448-setting

It's a size 6.5, for an 8.4mm RB.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Happy looking!

a

p.s. if anyone is really in love with this, my husband is travelling to the US at the end of the week and he could take it and mail from there, so shipping would be less and a lot quicker :)

Hi Angeline , do you believe this setting could be sized to 7.5? As I'm an Aussie , this is very tempting being on this side if the Pacific :-)

Looking at the all the floral work on the band etc I would say +/- 1 size is fine. But I would not go more or less then that. That is just my .02 cents of course.

Hi Monty,

I believe it could be sized up by one size from 6.5 to 7.5. The floral work ends at 3 and 9 o'clock.

It is hard being on this side of the world isn't it! (from a jewelry point of view). Nice to see something local for a change!

Edited to add: I just looked through my old thread and snicklefritz was interested in resizing down to a 5. They rang Larry and he confirmed that it could be done. So I would guess that sizing up by one size shouldn't be problematic.

Thank you both so much for your replies . Sorry for another question , what would you estimate to be the height of the ring from the finger to the top of the prongs when it was set with your stone . Did this ring originally have its own thread ? Hehehe just realised that is 2 questions ;-). It is a gorgeous setting ! Thanks again .

Hi Monty,

I didn't do a thread for it. I was resetting a lot and got kind of embarrassed

I will measure the setting from bottom of basket to top of prongs as best I can for you. BRB!

Monty, as best I can measure its right around 6mm to top of prongs. Hope this helps!
