I just got my 8 year old pre-PS well cut diamond ring back from having the platinum setting spiffed up. The sun was shining so I decided to play around and get some sun shots. My stone is a 1.5 ct round F VS2 set in platinum with channel set graduated yellow side stones. Some of the side stones have exceedingly strong green/yellow fluorescence, as you will see.

Looking all shiny and pretty. I''m wearing a red sweater and the sky is blue.

I thought my diamond fire days were over since I got my new camera which eliminates flare. But, managed to get a fire shot here!

Did you notice something in the upper right corner of the last picture? It''s my new Crafted by Infinity diamond! A 0.70 ct F VS1 beauty!!! It''s going into a ring for Christmas, but I''m letting it come out to play right now. It is supposed to have very strong blue fluorescence, but I haven''t been able to see it in the sunlight.

And, it sure doesn''t look oily or milky to me! Here it is, showing some arrows.

At first I thought the Infinity was showing some lavendar flour. But, when I blew up the photo, I realized it was glowing with an entire rainbow across the stone.

Finally, my ring along with one of the Richard Homer rubies that I got for sidestones for the Infinity diamond. The ruby is showing its red glow!

Thanks for looking at my sun shiny photos!

Fly girl, I love it! I love how the yellow diamonds graduate down from dark to light! Fabulous!

Thanks mommy2iz, Kelli, D*Dana, and iluvcarats! The graduated yellow side stones are really well matched, but some of them look at bit green in the sun due to fluor. The jeweler did a great job sourcing them. I worked with him on the ring design. I didn''t realize at the time how well the setting would reflect back the light around the diamond, but you can really see it at work here.

I''m thinking of the three-stone ring for the Infinity, with the Richard Homer round ruby sidestones. Nothing too fancy. Want to let the fantastically cut stones take center stage.

Wow, those pictures are amazing! Love your ring and what are you going to do w/the .70 carat stone?
