Hello,

I recently posted a thread asking for help in deciding on a diamond for my upgrade and you all were so helpful! I ended up rejected all of my initial choices and looked for new ones.

I have narrowed down my search to the following and am curious to hear more opinions from you all.

And yes I am unfortunately tied to my seller. I would like to keep the trade in value I am getting for my current ring.

In terms of light performance I am looking for more “fire” from the stone.

I am asking the store to get maybe 2 of these stones in for me to look at. I am leaning towards the 1.8 and 1.94 carat stones.

They all scored below 2 HCA

Using the price listed in the last link, I found you this bona fide Super Ideal Cut. Any and all concerns have been erased since it is custom cut to extremely strict criteria and heavily scrutinized and vetted.

@kabenton If you ever decide you want to upgrade again you can upgrade with Whiteflash by basically spending $1 more than
what you paid for the stone you are trading in. Most other vendors require you to spend 2X your original stone price which
quickly becomes exorbitant on this size/quality of stone. Many PSers have used this benefit (including me). Some have used
it multiple times to reach their ultimate size.

Edit...never mind. I forgot you were the one upgrading your current stone through your vendor. Carry on!

Well, poo. I totally missed that important tidbit...sorry for misunderstanding your situation, kabenton!
Can your jeweler get the D VS1 that I posted right after the WF ACA? It may be another great candidate to add to your short list, if available.

Do you have a substantial amount of money tied up in the stone that you are trading in? It would be nice to cut your losses there and buy from a vendor like WF with a great trade in policy - even if you went with a smaller diamond right now. You would never have to go through this aggravation again if you ever wanted to upgrade again. Some people use their first stone as a pendant. However, I don’t know the financial side of the story and understand if it is not feasible.

kabenton is SBJ your jeweler?
If so, then we can help scour through their inventory and help you out, if you'd like.

Yes they are! So honestly the reason I am tied up with them is because I royally screwed up :( I actually picked a stone in store and paid 10k then regretted it when I left and asked them to pause production. So technically I have 15k wrapped up in this including my trade in. But yes Solomon is the seller so if you find something amazing on their site let me know :)

I am trying to get between 1.8 and 2.1 carat (maybe 1.7 if it’s perfect),
from the diamonds I have seen I think color G is my favorite. E was too white and the Hs I’ve seen were a little too yellow. F might be fine but i haven’t seen any in person. I’d prefer VS1 clarity or a really eye clean VS2.

My budget is $25k (including the money they already have and my trade in)

I would prefer to stay closer to 20k but can go up to 25k

Wow this looks gorgeous in the video! Hopefully Solomon has something similar

There’s actually two parts to the story. I replied to @DejaWiz explaining but basically I have $15k tied up with this vendor so I think I just need to stick for now. I wish I found these forums before I started the whole search

I would ask SBJ if they can get the stone deja posted (the adiamor one)

Okay I can ask. Do you think the price would go up? I’m wondering how it works vendor to vendor if they have to buy it but then to make a profit they sell for higher

Pricing differences should be expected based on the jeweler, their location, costs to operate, their volume, etc.

Is it common for vendors to source diamonds from other vendors? I guess I’m a little nervous to ask them to get a diamond from another site and not theirs.

Edit: I just googled and found out that vendors usually have some deal with the supplier to advertise the diamond and don’t actually have it in house. So I can reach out and see if they can get it. I’m not sure I love the color but sounds like cut is priority anyways. I just really liked the Gs I’ve seen. Thinking D might be too white

@DejaWiz let me know if you find anything on the SBJ site around color F/G if you have time to look. I would greatly appreciative that. I scoured myself but obviously don’t have the same eye or knowledge you all do. All the original ones I posted here are from their site

That diamond probably has a 99% chance of being in the virtual inventory network, so it's likely up for grabs.

What is your personal opinion on color?

Is the whiteflash stone only available to whiteflash? Or is that also potentially in the virtual inventory network?

Only Whiteflash...their diamonds are cut to contract, human vetted, and held in-house until sold. Before GIA bought AGSL, Whiteflash ACA diamonds had a custom AGS grading report that was exclusive to Whiteflash.

Their newer diamonds with the GIA reports with AGS addendum do show that they are custom laser inscribed and still exclusive to WF.

I'm a sucker for D-E colorless, but I've seen some amazing super ideal cut diamonds in the I-K colors posted here that still face up very bright and white due to the sheer amount of light return that they exhibit.

I see. That makes sense now. I was wondering why they had all these perfectly cut stones while other vendors did not.

@DejaWiz @lovedogs
SBJ cannot find the diamond that Deja posted. But they said they can source two from their website. I’m asking for GIA 5453776864 and then choosing between 3445455615 and 5453299715. Which one do you guys think has more potential?
5615 got HCA of 0.7 and 9715 got HCA of 1.6

I’ve attached the certs and videos

Looks like they could only get the 5453776864 diamond from the ones I sent them :( the other two are on hold for people (3445455615 and 5453299715) so hopefully that one is really nice in person
