Hello all! This is my first post after years of reading through your advice and looking at all of your lovely pieces. I have come to a point where I need some specific help and I am hopeful you all will chime in. I am looking for my first real e-ring. I say that because we eloped many, many years ago and I have never had a diamond, but have worn a simple set of bands. We are at a place in our lives where this seems like a good time. I am looking for a near colorless, excellent cut, modern round approx 9.5 mm size. It will go into a six prong solitaire setting in platinum (for now), size 6 finger. After reading a lot I decided to go with Whiteflash because it seems like the easiest route. I don't want custom because I would rather buy something that is already in the universe (sorry if that sounds crazy). For my parameters Liza found one stone, but it is a virtual one, but she did say the proportions look promising.. She said they have nothing currently in their ACA inventory nor coming down the pike. I know I would not be eligible for an upgrade but I'm OK with that given the stone I'm looking for. Would you all please offer your opinions about this stone based on the certificate? There are no photos until they bring it in but that seems like a big deal and I want to make sure that there is nothing glaring. My concern is all of the inclusions under the table. I know with a VS1 it would be eye clean and WF would verify that, but it seems to be less desirable? Is there anything else I should consider or question I should ask? I blacked out the cert # because I have no idea if that is propietary information. Thanks in advance!

WOW!!! A 3 ct D, VS1. I don't have a problem with a bigger table. I would love to see that IRL. They can bring it in, do all the ASET evaluations, and you would have a return period right? So no risk to you, except the inconvenience of having to pay for it. I would look at it. Can you please share pics and the ASET when WF gets it?

Will do! I will appreciate y'all's advice then as well. It will be a couple of weeks because of storm issues delaying things on my end. So no concerns with all of the inclusions under the table? I guess that's my biggest issue.

I think more experienced and educated people will weigh in. I just love the idea of a 3 carat D VS1 MRB, vetted by WF. My mind is blown...

I think it's super rare to find such a large stone in a D color, VS1 clarity, ESPECIALLY one that WF is going to vet. I think it's worth bringing in. However, I would want to understand what fees there migt be if you decided you didn't like it from the pics once WF got it in. Just important to go in with your eyes 100% open to any potential downsides.

Thank you! I have read their policy and been informed that I can expect a 100% refund (or apply 100% of funds to a new stone) if the stone doesn't meet their or my expectations. After they study it, if I choose to have it sent to me for inspection, I would be out the return shipping and insurance if I reject it. Honestly, if they like it I'm not sure I would have it sent to me. I have terrible vision and astigmatism, that's part of why high color is so important to me. I will be relying on their expertise. And y'all's advice of course!

Absolutely. I think they get the stone, run their tests, and then if you want to see it, I am guessing your 10 days (forgot) starts when they send it to you right? You'll want to get them to do their analysis, and then you get your time with it. Let us know if that's how it goes. Exciting!!
