I've asked in Rocky talky also but thought I would ask here also, in case some of you don't visit RT!

So while I wait for the right diamond, I have been deciding on settings.

I have 2 existing bands that I will wear the new ring with but I can't decide between a plain band or having stones in the band. I also can't decide if I should have a donut so they don't sit flush or without, so they do sit flush.

Here are the pics.

Current bands:

Options for new ring: - But would go with a single claw not double claw. Love the way the prongs curve, rather than straight. Also will have a thin band like the blue diamond band. The diamond will be a 2.5 - 3ct stone if that makes a difference.

Would love any and all suggestions. Thanks so much!

Definitely stones in the band. As for the donut, that’s all about preference, and how you’d like the band to sit with the ER. Either way would look beautiful with those bands, and to add more bling won’t take away from a 2.5-3ct rock.

My favorite LM pieces are his sleek solitaires. You have beautiful bands and I personally really prefer a plain solitaire with diamond band vs a pavè setting with diamond bands that have different widths.that to me creates and imbalanced look and your center stone might get “lost” in too much bling. What is your center stone size btw?
Regardless, a classic LM solitaire would be something that you can enjoy for many years to come regardless of trends and fashion. =)2

Thanks for your input!

I tried on the Tiffany solitaire and it didn’t quite work but perhaps that was the knife edge throwing it off! It looked like this...

Do you think plain without knife edge would look better than this?

The stone will be around 2.8-3ct, I haven’t purchased one yet as I haven’t found the one!

I am going through same situation My solitaire is being made It will be almost identical to the LM one in your pics with pave and 3.42 RB Im looking at bands too I personally love the wider one you have Its perfect
Hoping to find something similar Good luck finding your diamond Its out there just waiting for you!!

I am not sure that I would go for an LM solitaire with the bands that you have. Your bands are beautiful, large and bling-y, they also appear not to be the lowest set, but I might be wrong about that. LM is known to create his settings very low set, his shanks (band) are also very flat and minimalistic. I love the look, but I think that your diamond bands might overwhelm a minimalistic solitaire setting. Perhaps if you add a plain band/spacer in between that might solve he issue. I would probably go for a tapered look. Something like the CvB Jovyn I think would look great with your bands:

The setting is not low set and the shank is tapered, not flat which I think adds some “elevation” and stacks better with large diamond bands.
Also, because you will have a sizeable Center stone, I would consider double prongs or a 6 prong setting for an added protection.
Do you have some Center stones in mind? We can help you find some.
Also, please click the “report concern” button and request that your thread be moved to Rocky Talk, you will get more feedback there ;)

I would wait until I have the actual completed e-ring before deciding on a band. And if I am having pave on the ering, I would have the vendor make a matching band.

I have the bands already, they’re not changing, other than perhaps some work on the blue band. I had that built up to match the eternity band but maybe it should be lower in height.

OP is talking about the shank of the e-ring, not the wedding bands ;-)

Ohhhhhhh! Gotcha!

Make sure you get Leon to set your ring at medium height. Mine is set very low and it gets in the way of my bands a bit. I do also wear a spacer that Leon made for me, and you will need one if you get the band with stones. I love Leons work. Good luck.

Leon is reluctant to set stones higher. He doesn't like the look. He also thinks that rings should be worn alone because of the damage that can occur. Just a heads up. I didn't have any issues at all with him and actually found him quite pleasant to work with but I know other have.

Thanks luv2sparkle.

Leon won’t be making it, it’s just for inspiration! I love the curve of the basket but think I’ll have to get straighter prongs due to the height off the finger of my bands!
