Do you wear imiation diamonds to work or elsewhere?

None of the above, once again.

I have one Asha I wear to work, and tell everyone it's an Asha.

I have one interlap, and likewise.

I also have several 'real diamonds' about which I say nothing.

I never wear imitations. I'm too self conscious that someone will be able to tell that the stone is a CZ. In fact, I've never even owned a CZ and if I wanted a large flashy stone, I'd be more inclined to purchase a well cut Zircon than buy a CZ. . .

I have to say, though, that the Asha stones have been a bit compelling to me, but their price is unreasonable. . .maybe if I could find a nicely priced used one, then maybe I'd get it for a fun pendant.

umm how about the most likely option for those that do wear them?

If it comes up Ill mention it but otherwise its none of their business!

Or am I so out of touch that they actualy want everyone in their business these days?
I know my wifey2b doesnt like people in her business.

Just out of curiousity, what sort of work are we talking about?

I wear my real diamonds everywhere. I'm not a huge imitation diamond fan, I have a Signity Star pendant but now that I have the real thing I never wear it.

So I guess I would be the 2nd option but why just to work? hee hee.

I have two pairs of CZ earrings but I rarely wear them because I'm too conscious of them. I wear my real diamonds everywhere- sometimes lots of them!

For many years I bought CZ stuff...Not big e-ring types of things, but little earrings, an eternity band, a heart necklace, etc., becasue I never dreamed of owning real diamond stuff.

Over the last few years as I've collected my jewelry, I feel self-conscious about wearing the CZ things becasue someone will "know." At least, I know and it weirds me out. Plus, I have a "thing" about mixing the real deal with simulants... So, I have been giving away a lot of the CZ or selling it at my annual garage sale.

This is a pretty CZ earring "swirl" design in sterling with french back....

My story is the opposite. I never cared much about diamonds-and didn't have pierced ears-so I had no interest in CZs before I got real diamonds. (I loved colored stones and didn't care for diamonds for most of my life.)

Once I owned some diamonds and knew I could wear them, I wore CZs instead because it was easier. I didn't have to take the other items out of the safety deposit box or pay exorbitant insurance on them!

I only wear CZ earrings. I don't misrepresent them because no one has ever asked. I don't feel self-conscious about them at all. *I* know I have a pair of real diamond earrings of great quality that are far bigger than any CZs I wear. (Actually I have two pairs of real diamond earrings: E color VS quality stones-not ideal cut-of 1.25 carats apiece and D color VVS quality ideal cut stones of .50 carats apiece.)

I don't participate in simulated gems. I understand why others would, but it's not for me...

I was at my jewelers and the girl who works for him had beautiful diamond studs...i asked her about them and she looked around and whispered "They're not real--they are CZs" as if she'd be arrested by the FBI if someone heard her. I'll tell ya, they looked great. they were set in white gold in a low 4-prong basket and were the right size to be believable, 3/4 ct per ear.

Maybe I will do some serious soul searching this year...I had planned on taking a big plunge and getting 2ct tw studs next Christmas--already told my husband not to buy anything else for me all year becasue I really want nice studs... I'd never been a stud person until I discovered Pscope and saw all the great studs people had.

I love my diamonds but there are moments when I almost faint at the money they cost and wonder if quality, believable CZs aren't a much more practical option in the long run. Sometimes, I think "what if I had given all that money to the dog shelter? how many homeless pets would I have been able to save, to give a chance to have a happy life?" It's really disturbing.

Food for thougt.

i'd rather not wear anything than to wear normal cz's. i feel that if i cant afford the real thing, why even bother pretending to have it.

I tend to agree tomatoe....I would rather just wear simple silver than CZ's for the most part. I bought the SS because I was curious, had read about the H&A in the CZ. It looks really beautiful, but different than my diamonds. Somewhat too white and crystally. I have looked at the Asha's and other sims and am somewhat tempted because of the size, but I'd rather just save up for the real thing even if it takes alot longer

Yes, I'd rather save, too. . .or I'd rather just save for one smaller pair of REAL diamonds than purchase a large pair of czs.

Jennifer does have an excellent point about priorites, so, my opinion is there is nothing wrong with having nice jewelry OR big diamonds, but you only need so many diamond jewelry pieces. . .You can't wear them all at once anyways, so it only makes sense to me to buy just one or two nice items per year and leave it at that. The love of jewelery can be taken too far and there are other things in life AND much more important things.

Very, very well said. I like the one special treat a year approach.

We've done the one special treat a year for years. For us it is birthdays. We led such a hectic working life that to add to the Christmas stress of having to buy for each other too didn't make sense, and our anniversary is 2 days after hubby's b-day, so gift-wise it's tough to do big for both. There is nothing to interfere with our birthdays, so we take that day to make it special for the other one -- gift-wise and event-wise.

I'm getting studs for my birthday this year, with the agreement that I get to find the stones. Should be fun

Oh, I've worn cz studs off and on for years. I had some real ones that I gave to my step-daughter, and I own some dressier real earrings. I bought a pair of high end cz's years ago as a size test, and stuck with them until now. I've gotten tons of compliments on them over the years, but now I am downsizing, and going to go for the real thing.

I don't own anything fake except for a fake swiss army watch. It just happened to be a $10.00 watch I could wear to the pool. I quess that is why a CZ has never crossed my mind.

But then, I'm one of those people who wonder why people would buy a Kate Spade purse - real or fake when their are less expensive beautifully made leather purses.
