With all the threads over the years about ring size vs. center stone size, I was just wondering what sizes people in general have! If you feel your ring size has any bearing on which types of rings you like on your finger, please post comments as well!

PS - Men: please don''t vote! Just comment below, but let''s let the poll be only for women so that the numbers don''t get skewed. Sorry!

I'm a perfect size 6, though my engagement ring is a 6.25 (it spins, so I'm thinking of having it sized down). I think my fingers are quite large for my body frame, but my hands look like a child's hands...tiny and a little chubby. In the pictures I posted, they look huge, but they're normal looking in person.

My engagement ring band is around 3mm (I assume)...I tried on a 2mm band at Tiffany's and it was smaller. I think it's a perfect width for me, as I tried on a Ritani and it made my fingers look huge!

I''m a 6, but I had my rings sized up just a tiny bit so they''d be loose rather than fitted, I don''t like snug items...but the funny thing is that I can put on Jorman''s ring and she is a 5.75 and it goes on the finger just fine and is not tight. So I guess a bit of a range on what works and maybe style of ring etc.

My engagement ring is 4.25 but my wedding band is a 4. I hope I don''t gain any weight in my fingers!

5.5 here

My ring size changes every 5 minutes! Most of the time I''m between a 6 and a 7.

I wear between a 3.5 to a 3.75, depending on the ring. I don''t think my hands look particularly small, though, and I certainly wouldn''t consider myself a small person either.

I have little kid-looking hands, I think. My ring size is a 3.5... with a big annoying knuckle so my ring is always flopping around

I am a 4.75 to a 5. Used to be a 4.50, a long time ago

Ohhh, I also have the knuckle problem!!!

But it''s a little bit nice because my ring is really loose when I''m cold but I don''t have to worry about it actually falling OFF because the knuckle holds it in.

I''m a six, but I have long fingers so they still look pretty skinny. I''m also a teeny bit considering getting my wedding ring sized down 1/4 size...but I want to wait and see how much my fingers end up swelling in the summer before I commit to that.

I wear a size 5 and I have short fingers. As a result I don''t think wide rings or long stones like marquis look good on my hands. I really like my three stone ring because it spreads the diamonds across the finger.

I''m a size 7, pretty much always have been. I prefer somewhat wider bands, they make my hands look more balanced and my fingers a little longer. Delicate rings make my hands look odd, even though I''m actually a size 6.75 with narrower rings.

I''ve always been a 6.75-7 on my left ring finger, 7 on my right. I prefer wider bands and before my husband started looking for my e-ring I told him, remember honey, I have big hands so i will look silly with too small of a diamond!

I''m a size 4.5, I think. When I got my finger size taken, it seemed a bit tight at the knuckle, and the size 5 was loose, but the lady didn''t have a 4.75 for me to try. We''ll probably go shopping again once I''m home, so I can ask at other places. It''ll be warmer too (I got my size taken in February), so it''ll probably be more acurate.

My original e-ring was a 5 and a little loose could have been sized down maybe 1/4 of the size...Quest made my setting a 5 now and it''s really really loose it seems their sizes run a bit bigger. I went and tried on some sizers at mall jewelers and I think I''m either a 4 1/2 or 4 3/4 so I''ll probably size it down to a 4 1/2 whenever I get around to it...for now I keep my thumb on the base of my ring whenever it feels too loose...dangerous I know!

another 3 1/2 here..

My original e-ring was a 4.5. I''m now a 3.5 (6 years after getting my e-ring). Funny thing is, I weigh exactly what I weighed when I got engaged...so I guess it''s inexplicable finger shrinkage! No complaints though.

As for how my finger size affects desired diamond size....in my case there''s no association!

The bigger the better! I should point out, though, that my size-whoreness is a new development, it came on pretty strong after I discovered PS. Before PS, I was happy happy with my 1.37 ct round and probably woulda been fine with it indefinitely. Thanks to YOU guys, my hubby''s now on guard at all times!

Hm, when we bought my ring, I thought I was a 6, but it later turned out I''m really a 5. I had it resized a month ago, and on most days, I find it is too loose. So, perhaps 4.75? But I won''t resize again unless I find it is still loose in the summer.

Virginia, I guess we''re not ring-size twins

I am a size 4.75, but I have a big knuckle, so I have to get a 5.25 for my rings. I can comfortably wear a 5.5 on mas well as long as the band is 3 mm. or wider, but for thinner bands, like my ritani set, the 5.25 is fine.

OMG Kristy you suck!!! Used to be a 4.5 then it SHRANK to 3.5! Inexplicably? Tell us your secret. PLEASE! Or maybe I will just come and chop off your hand and surgically attach it to my arm. *insert maniacal laugh here*

I'd love to find out one day I'm a FIVE and not a SIX. I can dream.

Mara, My finger went down from a 4 to a 3.5 after I had my kids, so who knows, it may work for you too

So that means if I have 3 kids it may shrink down 1.5 sizes? HEE.

Haha, I''m just picturing some old grandmotherly type asking you why you wanted to have a third child and you''re saying, "Well my ring size hadn''t shrunk enough..."
31.gif

Hmm -- you never know, maybe popping out 2 kids WAS the reason my fingers mysteriously shrank! Who knows!

You know how some people get less "firm" as they age....that''s the only explanation I can think of!

i''m a size 6, but my fingers are short...i have a 1.5 ctw 3-stone ring... and it''s waaaaaaay too small. waiting on that updrade

WOW...I feel majorly huge now...I have a size 9 finge. When I got married, my finger was a size 7.5. I am about 25 lbs overweight (
emsad.gif
) but I do not seriously think that if I lose that weight that suddenly I will be down to that again...

I envy all you gals with tiny lil'' lady like fingers...sniff...

Don''t worry.....I can relate......I used to be a size 6 finger and now I can wear a 7.5 or 8 depending on the ring. I do find my hands/fingers have changed in the last five years and I think that is just part of aging.

I wear a 4.5 (though I probably could wear a smaller ring but I kind of like it when they are a little loose. My jeweler tried to get me to order a 4 1/3 instead of 4 1/2) Somehow my ring came in at 4.75 (and I only noticed a few months ago when it started getting cold out.
20.gif
) so now I need sizing beads. I have small hands and thin fingers but I am a pretty little girl (I am only 5''1"!)

I wear 4.25 on my left hand and 4.5 on my right. Of course it depends on the width of the shank.
