While those shawls are very pretty, I don''t think they compliment your gown well. Your gown is so light and ethereal (gorgeous by the way!), that I think all of those shawls are too heavy and take away from the light feeling of your dress. They also just don''t seem to have the same level of formality. I would prefer to see your dress with a shawls or wrap in a much lighter fabric, maybe a cashmere or angora?

I absolutely adore #1! Especially if it can be done in ivory.
Ditto--it looks the best with your dress in my imagination. I like the shawl, too, but I think the shrug would show more of the gorgeous bodice on your dress.Date: 6/15/2009 6:04:19 PM

Have you tried to convo with the seller? Etsy sellers are usually really good about custom projects and s/he would likely be willing to create something specifically for your dress.
I really like the shawl, personally, but I guess it would depend on when and how you were wearing it. If it was something for the whole reception/ceremony, it would be too bulky. But, if it was something just to cover up with when you have to be outside, it would be fine. Well, honestly, I would do something like this for an Ohio winter wedding.[/QUOTE

Katamari: Ohhhhh Ohio. But really- major LOL to the Northface. You know as well as I do, Ohio winters can be nasty! Hopefully there won''t be any lake effect snow in Cleveland. Bah!
FWIW: The shrug/shawl will be for outdoor purposes only. Even if we don''t do lots of photos outside (and I''m hoping for just a few by the downtown Christmas lights!) I will be outdoors on a few occasions. So my goal is a bit of warmth without sacrificing style. I guess that''s my concern about the shawl- perhaps it won''t be warm enough... be it yarn or charmeuse. An angora shawl would probably provide a bit of protection from the elements, but I''m not finding one for a reasonable price anywhere online...
Thanks for the input and suggestions, ladies! I''ll let ya know what I go with!
