Are poppyseed settings (diamond bistro) good enough for everyday engagement rings? They seem nice but the price makes me concerned. Has anyone used them? Do they like them? Pics wouldn't hurt ::)

Shit I can't remember who else owns one. But sweetpea+babycorn upgraded her set, and had poppyseed make her new setting. She's been wearing it for a while now, and she sounds very happy with it.

I haven't heard any complaints from 'the other side' about her settings, either?

I tried venturing over to the dark side for reviews but god I don't understand the layout!

They look really nice! And a friend ofine has a 3500 budget and would really like to hit the 6mm mark. He could sure stand to benefit from a $300 setting.

They are O.K and very budget friendly, I just sent you a PM....

Niel I have and have had settings from poppyseed and Amcor and have been very pleased. You might look at the Amcor thread in the other place too. I have the new Stephanie mil grain eternity in in platinum - in fact I have the very first one and it might be named after me. ;))

I have a rose gold setting from Poppyseed that is very nice and quite suitable as an engagement ring.

Thanks guys! Do you have any pics? The one we were interested in won't work sense she doesn't already have a 6mm setting for it, and I'm not sure which other ones would look best

Niel I can't post mine as it has an Octavia cz in it. It is this setting in rose gold and it is a beautiful setting.

I have a silver one like the one catmom shared. Well made.

I had that same setting Catmom posted in 14k YG with an 8.5mm lab cushion ruby. It was gorgeous and very well made.

My temp setting was made by Amcor for $300, they did a nice job on the claw prongs.

I had a yg three stone prong setting for my avc's before I had Single Stone make the bezeled ring. Inexpensive, but nicely made setting. Poppyseed was super nice to work with as well.

Niel - if you get one, I'd be interested in a comparison to the DZ ring you got for your SIL.

I'll let you know. I think he is going to go with BN though. But we will see!

I know dz settings are thin. But every time I see that SIL ring I think "wow that's so much prettier than I remember"

I know this probably sounds silly but how do you reach poppy? Does she have a site?

Maybe I don't know how to navigate DB but it doesn't seem like she really has anything for sale.

You can just message her on DB or whatever, that's what I did. I messaged her and said I had these stones, this is what I was thinking of, would she have anything to fit the bill? And she sent me pictures, we went from there. Super easy.

The setting in the link I posted is for sale. If you want a different gold or something else just message her.

Thanks packrat, Catmom!

I'm not looking for a setting yet, but it's always handy to know places where we can get "well-priced" settings. I'm amazed that these would be suitable for an e-ring too, but I'm glad to hear there are options like this out there.

Any other setting company's ya'll would recommend? I've been playing around with the idea of building a reasonably priced, but beautiful color stone ring.

Sorry to resurrect an old threat but I was wondering if you had the name and side views of your ring there. I am looking to make a backup/vacation ring on a budget and this ring looks great from the views in there pics here. I just bought a setting from Etsy that didn't turn out quite what I wanted and am past the return period and don't want to make another mistake.
Thanks

Glad you bumped this thread...don't know anything about the vendors discussed.

Nor do I know what/who SIL is.???

You can see more photos of lknvrb4's setting in this thread: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-new-cushion-brilliant-ering.189728/ You could likely just e-mail Poppyseed about it.

SIL stands for sister-in-law--Niel was talking about her sister-in-law's ring and how nice it is. It was made by Poppyseed/Amcor.

Thank you Ariel. I checked out some of those rings but I really wanted this one.

Rubybeth, you are awesome! That is exactly what I was looking for! I already got a quote for the setting but Poppyseed didn't have any side views. I was worried about ordering it without side views. I already wasted money on a setting on Etsy that I really don't like and am past the return period.
