FYI. I received an inquiry on a ring for sale through email. The buyer listed himself as a real estate agent with two links after his name. Both links looked like they could be an e-business, but when checked both just took you to sites with information on how to become certified in real estate.
His signature was made to look like he was an agent. "Call so and so & You Can Be Proud to Say So and So is my Realtor" but no number or business is listed under that signature.
He tried to negotiate a sale, and per my listing I specified Paypal as payment. He then said he would buy by "cashers" check sent by his company's "payment department" and would arrange for pick-up by Fed Ex after check clears.
Banks will typical deposit such a check and make the money available in days. However, it may take a bank 30 to 45 days to discover the check is not good. And then you will be out the money.
I never heard from the buyer again when I said "no thanks, Paypal only." If he was legitimate he doesn't come across as such. So just an FYI for anyone else who he may contact.
