I figured I would create a post to see if there is any interest in my whiteflash sapphire by the yard necklace?

I'ts 18k white gold with beautiful sapphires (not dark at all) and quite a few more stones than the one they currently list for sale. I bought it used quite a few years ago from another PS member on the bistro-but it did not come with the white flash box.

I plan on taking it into a local jeweler to get the mm measurements on the stones since I know many people will ask for that-and I do not have that information since I don't have the tools to measure it myself.

It is 16" with 14 bezeled sapphires.

I'm sorry for the poor photos-lighting was terrible. I will do my best to get better ones but with a baby it's hard to do.

WF quoted me over 1400.00 to remake this in the last year-but I'm not quite sure what to ask for it. How do I figure that out?

No advice on how to price this?

The asking price doesn't matter so much as long as you know what you'll take for it. I might list for a little more than you paid since you bought second hand in hopes that you can recoup most of your money. If you had bought new, you'd obviously lose more. Don't overprice it by too much or people may not bid. Be sure to put "or best offer" in your listing.

I remember this necklace! It was mine.

I sold it on DB to someone, but I didn't think it was you. I thought I sold it to a man who's name started with the letter "B".

I sold it for $330, I just looked up my old DB emails to see how much I sold it for. I can't believe I sold it so cheap. I am sure you can get more for it now!

The value has increased and whoever buys it is still getting a great deal as long as all the stones are intact, etc.

Oh gosh, I'd jump at this at $330. Seriously, it would be sold.

There is definitely interest. *nodnod*

(No pricing advice... since I'd be interested in buying it, I think it would not be at all unbiased!)

I know we can get back our money for it (see bufferfly's post) but I won't be selling it for what I paid. I love it to much to let it go for that little (even though it was about 4 years ago and sapphires have gone up in price). Thanks for the advice!

You sold it to my adopted dad butterfly :) It was a gift from my dad when I was going though a really rough patch. I do remember he got quite the deal on it-although now I realize just what the deal!

It's double the amount of sapphires than most of them AND sapphires have skyrocketed in price this year. I'd venture to say this is over 1500.00 new.

I can't believe you sold it so cheap either! I think if I were to put it up for sale it'd be in the 900.00 range. I realize this is quite a bit more than what was paid-but with the price increase-the number of stones-and the fact I could *never* afford to replace it factors into it quite a bit.

I'd only sell it if I could get a good amount so I wouldn't feel as badly about letting it go. It's hardly worn though!

I will however entertain trades if anyone wants to try me. I'm really looking for something unique-bezel set-very james meyer style. Sapphire RHR-the like!
