Posting Pictures-What''s the trick?!

I finally tooks some pictures of my earrings, and a necklace that I'd like to have re-made and thought you all might have some suggestions for me. I was just winging it with the camera and actually got some decent pictures but can't seem to post them. They're jpeg files that are about 500kb. Any suggestions??

Summer- your files are too big. They must be 100kb or smaller. Also, make sure they're 72 pixels per inch for best resolution.

That picture was much clearer before I adjusted it. I'll have to play around with the photos I took a bit to get used to this. I can choose a smaller size shot in the camera and of course I didn't bother to do that and already deleted them! I'll have to re-size the others that I already uploaded to my pc. I guess I should read the manual and probably will do that tomorrow.
