Potential Engagement ring diamond. Would love some help!

Hi! My son is getting ready to propose. He is young (21) and knows nothing about diamonds. His girlfriend has very small fingers and is looking at a simple solitaire. The Whiteflash ACA is the direction we are heading. So pretty! I have attached a link for one we are currently looking at. Would love some advice and if you have any other ideas, would really appreciate it.

I have 3 sons and this is our first engagement and it is the baby of the family so I am a bit traumatized by this whole process but he needs my help so here goes! They have been dating for four years so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise.

Thank you for the response. My son has a great job and plenty of savings but as he has never made a large purchase, he is having a hard time wrapping his head around what an engagement ring actually costs. So he could spend a bit more.

I purchased an AVC K that is just to warm for me and I regret it (it is really pretty tho) so my hesitancy on color is definitely coming out. Getting closer to a carat would be nice, too if you happen to see anything that looks nice. Picking out a diamond is so dang complicated , lol

Did your son happen to mention what his budget cap is for just the loose diamond?

Thank you very much! So, this led me to looking into the color a little closer. My AVC K looks too warm to me but a G solitaire in a yellow gold setting will hide some of the warmth. Is this correct? A G diamond is pretty and bright and does not look yellow?

Yes, I think most people think of G-H as white enough and not yellow and, as a result, great bang for the buck. I would also suggest white gold or platinum prongs for a yellow gold setting.

A G VS2 would make a lovely combination - nice and white with great clarity.

Thanks for all the input! Her finger is a size 4 and she just wants a a solitaire with a simple setting. She prefers yellow gold.

My son feels in a bit of a hurry because he had things planned out but I was dragging my feet. They are both graduated from college and very responsible. I'm really one who is not ready iykwim
