so i fell in love with this dress from jessica mcclintock, primarily for a RH dress. however, there is no way that i could ever justify spending that much $$ on a dress that was going to be for that purpose only. so my question is, do you think it could be worn to other weddings? it is a white dress, but with a lot of black detail, and i would almost invariably wear it with a short black button up sweater. but do you think it is too much white still?

of course i could maybe get it in the light pink and black, but i prefer the white and black.

here's the link : JM dress

I don''t see how it couldn''t be worn again. It''s a very pretty dress BTW

Hmm...not to rain on your parade, but I don''t think I''d feel comfortable wearing that dress to a wedding. Just something about it doesn''t seem quite right to wear for a wedding. I know the black lace tones down the white, but still...

Cute dress, though!

I love the dress! I think it would be far more appropriate to wear this dress to a wedding than an all black dress. BUT, I know a lot of girls on PS wear black to weddings, so the no-black thing must be unique to my social circle.

Couldn''t you get it and just pretend that you''d definitely wear it again? It''s really just too gorgeous to pass up!

I love the dress and think it could absolutely be worn again, but I personally wouldn''t wear it to a wedding. I always think it''s weird when somebody wears a primarily white dress to a wedding. Of all the colors out there in the universe, it just strikes me as funny that the guest couldn''t come up with a single other thing to wear other than the color that the bride is going to be wearing. At my own wedding, I didn''t even notice if anyone was wearing white... too much else going on! But when I''m a guest at somebody else''s, I always notice, and always cringe. Just my 2 cents!

Pretty dress! I agree with some of the others though that I wouldn't wear it to a wedding. Just so you know, Macy's carries Jessica Mclintock, so you could probably find it there and use their 25% off coupons that come in the flyer.

Humm I don''t see why this couldn''t be worn to a wedding... she said she was putting a black sweater over it so it would really only look like a white skirt with black lace.

Well lets just say if someone came to my wedding in this I would have no problem... I think it''s fine for a wedding. It''s not like it''s a long poofy all white dress...

... which I forgot to mention I have seen people show up in. DOH!

thanks everyone for their input! unfortunately i don''t lead a fancy enough life that a dress like that would get much use other than for things like weddings

, so if it''s too much white for a wedding, it''s definitely a no-go. disappointing, but oh well! maybe i''ll go and try on the pink and black one.....just to see if i like that one as much

I saw the pink and black on their website and I LOVED that one!

Totally agree! One of my childhood friends got married last year and some distant relative of the groom wore a mostly white dress and we all noticed. .. maybe get it in the pink instead? It IS gorgeous!

whats an RH?
