Hi everyone. One of my beloved pets, who has cancer, is currently declining in health. Due to the type of cancer she has and the recurrence rate (she had surgery in April to remove the tumor/ mass and it is already back) she was given a poor prognosis. As the tumor/ mass is back and growing pretty rapidly and impacting her quality of life I am worried that we will have to put her down this weekend as we were told her dying a natural death would be unlikely and to monitor her daily for changes. Today, I noticed a pretty rapid decline in her ability to do the things she loves. If possible, please pray for her. I’m religious, and I often worry about what happens to animals after death. As a believer, I know that God’s will for all of His creation is good and that He cares and loves all of His creation, but I’m worried due us living in a broken world full of sin. I just would never want any animal to suffer due to our sins, and hope that all animal’s experience the peace of God after death. I’m not sure what everyone’s thoughts or beliefs are, but if you could pray for her that would mean so much to me. The only thing that matters to me is that all animals find peace after death and experience peace after death. I know this might be stupid to ask, but I am so worried about her and what happens to her and all animals after death. I just want her and all animal’s to experience the peace of God after death. Anyways, thank you so much and I’m sorry for going on and on. My OCD and anxiety really go through the rough when something like this is happening. I just really really love her and care for her and all my pets and worry for all my pets. I just really worry about all animals and want them to be okay. Thank you all for everything. I’m

I’m so sorry about your pet. I hope when it’s her time, you’re able to be with her to ease the passing.

I’m so sorry. Sending prayers.

I am so so sorry. Sending bucketloads of healing vibes and good wishes to her and may her time left on earth be as pain free as possible. Animals represent the best of us. They are good and innocent and their souls are pure. They truly define the term unconditional love. Keeping you and your sweet baby in my thoughts and prayers. Where there is deep grief there is great love

So terribly sorry. I wish you both peace in this difficult time.

So very sorry. Will keep you and your beloved pet in my thoughts and prayers for peace for both of you. Take good care of yourself.

I am also a believer, thou' not very religious, I just want to say I dreamt of my dog (long gone) being happy and running in sunny green fields of grass and for a moment I was running with her.

That's all I want to say, rest assured, all pets make it to heaven.

Sending prayers and a hug. I have a sick one right now and am so thankful they don't worry at all. We're the ones who do. You have done everything you could to give her health and love and peace.

I am not very religious @clarity1264 , but I do believe we will meet up with our pets and loved ones after we are gone. Doing what is best for them, even if it breaks our hearts, should bring you some peace.

@Gloria27 , I too dreamt of my beloved Sherman, after his passing. He was healthy and happy and pain free. I still gain some calm from this, when his loss catches up with me even years later.

Yes, I too still feel the sadness (caused by the loss) from time to time, it's been almost 20 years since. Glad you got some relief.

I'm so sorry @clarity1264. This is such a painful thing to go through. Sending support, comfort and hugs to you.

I have a geriatric pet myself. I will pray for a good last time (however long it be) for you and her.

I have always liked the Anglican evening prayer:
O Lord, support us all the day long, until the shadow lengthens, and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, and the fever of life is over, and our work is done. Then in Thy mercy, grant us a safe lodging, and a holy rest, and peace at the last.

I think our loving pets deserve all the above. I hope that you and your pet find it.

Thoughts outgoing.

I can't pray. (We atheists don't pray.)
Why would you assume everyone is religious by asking for prayers?
People vary.
Some do religion, some don't.
We're all good and equal.

Anyway, all I can do is hope for the best for your pet and for you.
I've been there and I understand what you two are going trough is very painful. ::)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I just lost my sweet Zoey Bird to cancer in January. It hurts so much to know you have to say goodbye, but please know it’s the right thing to do for your baby. If we can give them one thing, it’s a pain free passing. I truly believe it hurts us so much more than it hurts them. We’re the ones who have to live on with their loss.

The one thing I never worried about was where her soul would end up. I’m also a religious person. I grew up in a house where people told me animals don’t go to heaven because they don’t have souls, but anyone who’s loved an animal knows they absolutely do…and their souls are full of nothing but love. They don‘t sin because they aren’t capable of it, and our sins could never be placed at their door. Trust that your beautiful furbaby will be going on to a wonderful place. A place where they are happy and free to frolic around to their hearts content. I often picture my babies up there in heaven, goofing off with each other, annoying each other, doing all the things they loved to do while they were here on earth. And I truly believe that one day, when I’ve passed on, I’ll be greeted by all the furbabies I’ve had to say goodbye to. How wonderful it will be to feel their soft fur, to kiss their little noggins, and to know I’m still loved by the furbabies I’ve loved so much.

I think you may have misinterpreted my words in this post. I never assumed or made an assumption regarding anyone’s religious beliefs or lack of in this post. I’m sorry if you interpreted it in the way, as that wasn’t my intention. As I stated above, I am religious. As a believer, prayer is important to me and I was hoping that by making this post that people who also share my beliefs would also pray for me and my pet. I personally believe in the power of prayer. My intentions for making this post, was a simple prayer request. I appreciate the kind words, but I never made any assumption or assumed anything about anyone. I made a request. I’m sorry that I made you assume that this post was rooted in ignorance, as I have always practiced and believed in the power of diversity. Diversity in religion, diversity in religious beliefs or lack of, diversity in different cultures, diversity in lived experiences, etc. Again, I am sorry I made you assume these misconceptions and if I did not clearly state my intentions for this post. As for what you stated above, by making an incorrect and hurtful assumption, it is hard to believe your words were rooted in kindness as the reflected poorly. I hope that you will take the time to reflect on my words, and find a better way to communicate in ways that don’t reflect hostility or cause division.

I am so sorry for you loss, and appreciate your kind words. One thing that I find comfort in, is that there isn’t a clear interpretation of anything regarding animals and happens to animals after they die - meaning that there is nothing to state that animals are going to heaven or to hell. I find comfort in this, as the Bible is very clear about what happens to us if we don’t believe in Jesus. A verse that I often read when worrying about this is Matthew 6:26 - Look at the birds in the sky. They don’t sow seed or harvest grain or gather crops into barns. Yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth much more than they are? In this verse, Jesus clearly mentions the word worth in regards to animals. I interpret this as Jesus stating that the Lord finds worth in animals. I do my best to cling to the truth that God is good and the He cares and loves all of His creation. God did not create us with the intention for us to live a life separated from Him due to our sin. That is by our own doing, and it hurts Him for us to live in a broken world filled with pain and suffering. May the hope of heaven fill you as we look forward to the day when death will be no more.

Sending hugs, lots of hugs.
I send you strength and bravery. If your beloved fur baby is unable to enjoy life, it is time.
Better a week too soon than a day too late.
Animals are pure creatures, free of sin and God welcomes them unreservedly into his arms for safe keeping.
Just be with your pet til the very end. Be the last sight seen, the last soft words heard, send your beloved pet off with all your love and a piece of your heart.
it hurts so much but that is the price we pay for the love we have shared.
sending more hugs.

Sending you hugs and prayers. Animals are the most innocent beings around. No matter what bad is in our world due to humans, the animals continue to be innocent. Always. They are good to their very souls. Saw this the other day. It is so simple, yet so fitting. I hope you are able to find some comfort.
