Prayers for my Mom today please...

Hey everyone,

My mom is having a heart catheterization(?) today at 11am and she is really nerveous about it. Once they go in, there are two outcomes

1. the Doctor's find nothing and the whole procedure is 30 minutes
2. they do find something, have to remove it/operate and she has to stay overnight

Thanks in advance for your support...I'll be hanging out at the hospital most of the day or with my mom at home (depending on how things go) so I won't be online for awhile, but I'll give you an update as soon as I can.

Everything went well. They actually were able to get started an hour early so that was good. They didn''t find any blockage and the arteries look good, the only thing is that her heart doesn''t pump enought blood, but that is due to her high blood pressure, so she got an increased prescription for that.

Now she just has bed rest at home for the rest of the day and can go back to work on Monday.

Hi Appeltini,

Don''t worry too much. She will be fine. Caths are done so routinely now that there''s little chance of anything going wrong. Even if they find a blockage they will do what''s called an Angioplasty in which they use a balloon catheter to open a blocked artery. This revolution of invasive procedures has come such a long way and millions have been done. She''ll do great for many years to come! Tell her she will be fine. Our prayers will still be with her. I''m late reading this, but I''m so glad to hear your mom''s OK! My dad had brain surgery a few years ago to treat trigeminal neuralgia (nerve disorder), and just knowing that my friends were rallied around me and thinking about and praying for him made me feel so much better!
It''s so nice to know that your mom''s situation has an easy fix!
