Hi would you dangle put precious sapphires and semi precious amethyst citrine into a charm bracelet? Do I have to worry about the stones being damaged scratched etc. from banging on the yellow gold charm links? or are the gemstones strong to withstand this kind of sliding around contact? I would love to have a charm bracelet that I can add sentimental gold charms and mix of gold only pieces with gemstone pieces. Does anyone have this type of bracelet and advice on this type of charm bracelet and have any pictures.
how to make the gemstone more secure protective or should I avoid this type of bracelt.
what would be your preference of type of bracelet to set a precious gemstone into a bracelet and the most durable secure
I prefer to set the multi gemstones into a bracelet
Thank you

I have my mom's old charm bracelet. The charms are about the size of a quarter. I think every charm with gems has one missing. It's hard to not hit things when wearing it.

What if, instead of the gems being dangles, you could have them in a setting with a double dangle, and put them in the bracelet as link pieces? That way you could have charms and gems, though they still might get banged up.

Yes I was going to say most people get sick of charms whacking them in the wrist. Why not incorporate them into links by having a fastening at the top and bottom of the stone?

Also if you really want dangly gems look into briolettes theyre intended to be worn as drops. I would be more likely to fasten them to a necklace or earings though.

I remembered the name of the vendor who sells briolettes (these will have the advantage of looking good from all angles, wheras a normal faceted stone either needs to be inlaid into the chain with a fastening above and below as a link. Or youre really going to have to put a basket on it to help protect it from chips.

It could be worthwhile making a cheaper version of the bracelet first (with some hardy but small sapphires.). To see how the wear and tear accumulates, and if you like the feel on your wrist.

I once had a braclete with dangles
One night i managed to shut it in the till at work when we were closing up
i did panic for a moment i would be trapped there all night

HI does anyone have photograph of ideas of best way to do a bracelet. advantage and disadvantage. I asked a jeweler for ideas on how to turn a multi gemstone necklace into a bracelet so that I can view the colors more. since the gemstone was dangling from a necklace person stated can just take the gemstones off the necklace showed me picutre of the gemstones in the basket and that the jeweler will put a a piece to connect the gemstones to the charm bracelet.
I have gemstones that are relatively similar sizes but different shappes such as two sapphires one ct size , amethysts , citrines similar sizes and a light blue montana sapphire .50 size being put into a basket and then to dangle from a charm link bracelet.
i am wondering does the gemstone get damaged if moving around on the bracelet itself and clinking onto the bracelet gold piece itself etc. or are sapphires for example strong enough to endure the moving around on bracelet onto the bracelet and need to be careful that I don't whack into something with force similar to like the ring.
do people usually prefer to put gemstones in a for example for a tennis bracelet for example to keep the gemstones stationary. although seem like bracelets in general need to be careful since can bang into things. everyone thank you for everyone's input.
