I''m starting to think about putting together fun gift bags for my ''fake BM''s'' and ''fake MOH''s'' and I need some guidance. I was thinking about doing scented candles, yummy lip balm, a novel (to make it personal for each gal), and a few other fun odds and ends.

Here are the facts:

1) I''ve been jokingly calling them fake, because I made very clear that I require absolutely nothing of them except to hang out with me the day of, zip me up and send me off. Also, they won''t be buying a BM dress or anything, and only two of them have to travel a significant distance to get there. In other words: my wedding is basically costing them next to nothing in money or time.

2) I somehow ended up with 2 MOH''s (sis and best friend) and 5 (!!) BM''s.

3) I remember someone once giving some kind of formula involving the size of the wedding?? So, there will be 80 guests.

So, does it sound about right to do $30-40 gift bags for the BM''s and $50-60 for the MOH''s? I will also be paying for a new dress for my sister to wear, since she''s an undergraduate with very little income.

I don''t want to be stingy! I just don''t know what''s normal here.

You read my mind i had a similar question about what to get my BM''s and MOH i have 4 BM''s and 1 MOH and 2 Flower girls.....
i want to make sure i get something unique in each one for each of them..

i also found this nice site with poems that you can personalize, i especially like the ones for the parents but they have them for siblings and friends and such...

dont know if this helps but keep me posted i could use the help as well

That doesn''t sound stingy to me at all. I like the idea of choosing novels catered to the taste of each BM!

I only had 2 bms and they both travelled from Sydney to Melbourne for my wedding, so I really wanted to splash out and get them something special from Tiffanys. If I had more attendants, I''d have set my budget much lower.

IG, I think you should spend whatever you feel appropriate, there''s no real "amount" one should spend for a situation like this, IMO...But I would say that I love the idea of a more lasting gift. Jewelry (what?!? SG suggesting giving someone jewelry?!? what''s UP with that?!) or something like that. Maybe an engraved silver trinket box? I love the thought of special occassion gifts being something one can look back on years from now and think, "oh, that''s the box that IG gave me when I was in her wedding..." Just my two cents...

Hi Indy,

I love the ideas ktkakes suggested...

Somewhere in another BM gift thread I posted what I got for my girls...it was an oval monogrammed silver bangle bracelet with their initials engraved on it. I also found a gorgeous glass and silver ''friend'' frame that I will give them to put a picture of us together from the wedding in. I will be making all of their wedding jewelry to wear for the ceremony, so that will be part of their gift, too. I will be putting it all together in a BM/MOH bag or basket with fuschia beaded flip-flops for after the ceremony (on clearance at Target for $2.48, of course!) along with a manicure set, nail polish, lip gloss, etc...

Did I mention I am also buying their dresses and shoes??? So, everything except their trip to HI is taken care of...if they could all just GET there, that would be great!
