All,
Have been at it for a few weeks now. Had looked at options at 4 places - HPD, Whiteflash, David S and IDJ in NYC.

Leaning towards this pair from David So.

Love what Whiteflash is doing and they have a 2.06/2.07 pair available at roughly the same price. But it seems optical quality of David S diamonds is pretty comparable, except for H&A images, which look less impressive.

It would be great to get any inputs. Pretty please. It has been a lot of hard work.

I know a lot of images below - 16 to be total. GIA Cert, HCA Report, Gemex, Lightscope, ASET, H&A, HD image and symmetry image on each of the two diamonds.

These diamonds don’t have perfect hearts and arrow symmetry and would not be on par with super ideals. Not sure how important that is to you and a 2.2 is larger obviously than a 2.06. For my money, I would rather go with a super ideal diamond with no niggling question in terms of performance but you might feel differently.

Agree. Really hard to know how differences in H&A image translate to real life differences. Easier to visualize how light return (brilliance, scintillation etc) translates to real life differences in how impressive the diamond looks.

I am confused aren't these for studs.....

The Gemex reports look fab. Looking at the certificate, the second diamond seems to have lots of clouds? It’s VS2 but I’d want to see it in person to see if it looks crisp. Personally, if I was spending this sort of money I’d go with a higher colour at the expense of carat weight.

EDIT: maybe it’s a typo on the report and meant to be SI2 rather than VS2?

I think it would bother me that one stone has 75 (fat) lower girdle facets and the other has 80 (skinny). I like for the cuts to be more similar. I guess it depends on whether you value size over cut. I personally have Whiteflash ACAs.

Doesnt make sense to me why you would go with non-H&A stones if you can get ideal H&A stones for close to the same price.

The purpose of a facet is to return light. The better the facets match up (H&A shows this symmetry), the better the light return will be.
H&A is a level of precision that shows that the facets on one side will match up with the corresponding facet on the other side of the
stone. The facets bounce the light off of each other then return the light back out the top of the stone with minimal light loss.

I would always go with H&A over not H&A if cost are similar.
