Hi, does anyone happen to know how much Tiffany charges for its 6-prong PLAT setting?

http://www.tiffany.com/expertise/diamond/rings/combination_tiffany.asp?

I know Tiffany does not sell the setting alone. But if one were to buy a diamond with this setting and break down the cost, how much would the setting cost?

Just curious.

A lot more than $699 which is what I am selling my platinum tiffany six prong, 4mm setting for. Interested?

Exquisitei, try Ebay!

The six-prong from Tiffany in platinum starts at $970. I don't know the size of the stone at that price. I wrote an article about it a few months ago, so that's how I know.

the smallest stone that Tiff sells in their setting is something like .25c I think. So the $970 would be for a stone around that size. thing is, if you buy that $970 setting, you'd have to have a stone that size set into it. modifying the head to be larger just won't happen if the stone is much larger. it's too much of a modification and would most likely distort the setting and then you lose what you paid for in the first place. MAYBE you could get away with something like a .50c in that setting with slight head modifications. But I don't know...tampering with your prize mule could get you kicked!

considering that say..the markup on Tiff stuff is around 40% higher than your average H&A stone and standard $600 platinum setting...I would estimate that the SETTING itself is worth about that extra 40%. Since that IS what people are paying for most of the time...not the stone itself but rather the setting and stone, the package deal.

I can give London price for the smallest 0.25 E VVS is about $1770, this is of course cheaper in US, cause you guys dont need to pay ridicolous taxes

I got quoted $3800 for a .50 ct I color VS 2 ring at Tiffany's a while back. From what it looks like, a diamond like that is worth less than $2000, so the setting is at least worth more than $1800 according to the quote I got.

No offense but don't buy from Tiffany's. They totally jack you on price and the quality really isn't stellar. You can get a better stone, cheaper and an almost identical setting elsewhere.

Im biased as I had a horrible experience with tiffany jewelry last year and will never patronize them outside of the occasional mail-order keyring. And to show off my rock that looks better than anything they have.

There prices are way out there in my opinion. There are other name brands out there that have the similar looking mounting with just as gorgeous diamonds to put into them.

I would shop around before I would consider Tiffany's.

The pricing parameters on the UK site says they start from £725 ($1305), and £6525 ($11,745)for a 1 carat diamond. after reading what some of the Americans have posted, I checked the US site, and it is $970 and $8800!!! I think I will take my gf to NY, to the Tiffany store there - it will work out way cheaper!!! plus, it might be even more romantic
