Pricing of gold jewelry

I feel as if prices of jewelry are skyrocketing. A decent pair of earrings will run from 2,000 and up. Is it inflation? Or are there other reasons why jewelry became so unaffordable?

Precious metal prices had shot up, especially gold.

The earring price you mentioned, is that plain gold or with stones, and what gold content?

For what I want, I am happy with 9/10K as I only wear white metal, white gold alloys once Rhodium-plated are indistinguishable, look wise.

I only request for 14/18K to be used for the nicer pieces with nicer CS with earth-mined diamonds.

I use Rhodium-plated Silver for settings for the lesser CSs including simulated ones to cut down on costs.

I haven't visited this forum in ages. I usually visit Hangout when I come back to Pricescope. I was glad to find this thread, because gold is my "thing" and I have no idea what prices are. I have massive quantities of gold jewelry, much of it designer, some of it custom made. The lowest karat gold I have is 14 karat, most is 18 karat and more pure. I have a lot of 24K jewelry.

I still love it, but have not been wearing any jewelry in the past couple of years. I would like to learn what the trends and prices in gold are. We used to have a thread we called "The Gold Thread". I will look for it and see if it is still active.
